install setup am i doing it right?

hi iv just bought a DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR and just wanted to ask a couple of questions if thats ok

 

so first of all i flash my system using - 7/04-2BTA BigToe BIOS then install xp pro without pressing f6 and with out using floppy that came with mother board, windows loads up then do i change genie settings in bios and dram settings also then do i load optimized settings and restart pc after that do i install all drivers and everythink will play a ok

First off I would flash to the 623. My reasoning is you want to make damn sure the board is OK before you go voiding the warrany right off the back. After you flash the reset cmos then load optimised defaults. Then you can do a windows install :)

I'd run memtest (you can do this with a setting in the bios), before starting windows install, for a couple hours, and make sure it's error free. This could prevent having to re-install because the system was unstable and errored during the initial install.

If you look around or search there is a really good guide on doing all this.
