New HSF, New Overclocking

Recommended Posts

I have just bought a Gigabyte G-Power Pro HSF and I have started to overclock my AMD64 4000 SD Prozzer. My first attempt has got me this far.

What should I be aiming for, which will be stable for my system, am thinking around 2.8Ghz - 3Ghz???

TIA :)

depends on the steppings of your processor.. very few sandiegos can actually reach 3.0ghz stable

try running superpi 32M and maybe some 3d programs and see if it's stable @ that speed

As you can see on CPU-Z, it has the Stepping as 1, not sure on how good or bad that is???

It has failed with SuperPI, so I have chaged it around a bit & its running very stable at 250 x 11, SuperPI runs with no problems, and memtest has no errors, quite happy to stick with 2750 :)

I would not push the voltage any more then. Have you tested your OC with Prime95, 3dMark05,03 and the likes yet?

Yes, ran all morning on Memtest no errors, Super PI came back all good, did run 3dMark 2001 and got just over 23000 marks, not sure how good or bad that is???

Everything seems to be stable, so far ;)

Any tips as I'm sure it will go that little bit further, just at least to 2.8
