Apparently you misunderstood the paragraph that followed my quote of ExRoadie’s statement, where I stated that I’m not sure it’s a tool “tool meaning conspiracy” and tried to emphasize that what it actually creates is a favored uneven playing field, which I view as not being in the best interests of capitalism, not to mention the U.S.

psst: we should all get some old hairspray cans and run through the streets screaming and spraying CFC's everywhere!

or

we should maybe start giant tire fires!

ok ok maybe that last one was a little too far ;)

just want you all to know that I take this thing seriously...but I still have a sense of humor and am not attacking anyone personally even though I call them tinfoil hatters (but that's the pot calling the kettle black because I dig tinfoil hat stuff bigtime)

I agree, a sense of humor is what keeps us going. I like to argue and debate, and without people who disagree with me that is kind of difficult ;)

Whatever was your intention you've got to admit the two sentences became unintentionally a bit humorous. :) At least I enjoyed it.

What is in the "best interest of capitalism" is for me totally uninteresting. Capitalism is more or less a framework of rules for how to move capital in all its variations from one hand to another and hopefully gain something in the process.

Capitalism hasn't got a "soul" of good or bad and capitalism doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the US. The talk about communism is usually a mix of misunderstandings concerning an original ideology and the culture of a cold war, which had very little to do with actual communism versus if you so prefer capitalism (the problem is that the most capitalistic county right now officially is a communist state; the two - even if falsely so labelled - combined creates a very powerful force, and sometimes brutal, which still is more interested of its national economy, but has made some moves into the international market; you all know whom I’m talking about).

In 1600 AC the majority of scientests and leaned men beleved the world was flat one man knew that it was not but was forced to recant because of peer pressure. You would get about as much funding for proving pot was safe as for trying to prove global warming wasnt true.

The comment about less than 5% of the scientists being meterologists holds a lot of truth. Are you going to ask a dentist to check to see if you need your apendix out? They are both doctors after all under that theory both should be qualified to make an assessment.

If anyone has some good quality reasearch that is another story.

I am all for conservation no question- no reason for all the waste. If we can just get half the people getting new trucks making 10MPH to upgrade to trucks making 20 or better a small car making 40 we would save a ton of energy.

BTW is is very possible to make a energy effecnt full truck. They have them right now detroit just doesnt bother because there is no desire. Put a quality 5 or 6 speed eletronic controlled transmission and you would be amazed what kind of milage you can get out of them. Some 1 ton turbodesels make better milage than me in a 4cyln economy truck.

When was the last time anyone heard anything about the Ozone Hole over Antarctica?

It's been a while huh?

The removal of CFCs from production and use has had a great effect on the ozone layer.

The reason this has been a success story is that it only took very small amounts to have a large effect.

The bottom line is that when good science and good sense get together we can do great things.

We won one for the Gipper! No more ozone hole!

Explain to me how the countries of the EU, Japan and other industrialized capitalist, democratic countries classify as a communist countries. If the Kyoto Protocol is really as biased as you think it is, then why on earth would these countries sign something aimed at "punishing" them? Surely you're not arguing that they are masochistic?

Ah, you've hit the jackpot on that one. Simple minded leaders will fall into line with the UN for fear that they won't get their seat at the great table of "World Government".

It was not just each country but the EU that signed onto the Kyoto Protocol. Even Great Brittan fell into line on the issue. Of course the French surrendered immediately. Oh that's right, they're a socialist country.

But really they have a huge advantage since they absorbed many former Warsaw Pact countries that are just now restructuring their industries. This means they can go from outrageous emitters of CO2 down to let's say current U.S. levels and get massive credits that can be shared amongst the EU countries.

I'm telling you guys, there is much more to the Kyoto protocol than appears on the surface. If you're only getting your info from the mainstream media you are doing yourself and your country a disservice.

You have to look closely at the assumptions and projections made in the protocol to see what it truly is... a tool to bring about a world government.

BTW. I must beg to differ with the 95/5 percent ration that AG quotes in his "global warming" argument. Just amongst the climate scientists it's more like 55/45 percent in favor of human caused global warming. Their annual convention is going on right now with some very interesting papers being released.

i use regular 60w bulbs all over my house, but in areas that are lit most hours of the day, i use those fancy long life low power energy saving things. I only have like 3 of them in my house, and they burn pretty much 24/7 for over a year now and are still going strong..

What? I live with the need to adjust because of its affects, especially every spring when the combination of a natural thinner layer and the damage we have caused increase the risk dramatically.

I lived with the same risks in South-Africa, and I bet our friends from Australia haven't noticed a real success story yet.

I do appreciate your way of argumentation, and you're certainly a man who read a lot, questioning general answers, talks to people; still, some of your very blunt comments makes me wonder if you're aim is to defend an already decided personal agenda.

Free your mind!
