max volts and temps for air

What are the max recommended volts and temps for an Athlon64 x2 3800+?

I have a Big Typhoon and overclocked to 2.68ghz at 1.52volts running full load at 39c for cpu, 54c for pwmic and 41c for nf4 chipset.

I have heard that 1.6volts is max for good air setup, but when pushing to 1.575volts, the pwmic goes to 64c. Is that safe?

I have 6 case fans, 2x80 (front and back) and 4x120 (2 on side and 2 on top). They are quiet fans though.

It seems like none of these blow directly on your pwmic. I have a 80mm panaflow

on my ram which has helped my pwmic temps a lot. I rarely see anything above

44C even in a 80F room. You also may want to check you wiring as it is pretty

easy to clutter that area of the board(at least for me) :)

Hope that helps!

Wiring is fine, i have a 80mm Ystech fan that i might be able to "ghetto" up to the ram and to the pwmic. The pwmic are underneath the little heatsinks about the nf4 chipset?

edit: any news on the max volts on air though?

Nobody can have a recommended max voltage other than the stock voltage AMD gives. So you can only rely on what other people post.

I just had my 3200+ spend several days at 2.7 GHz with 1.8 volts selected in the BIOS (ACPI reports 1.73 volts reach the CPU).

While that overclock failed in the end, the CPU didn't take any damage either. Power consumption was INSANE but still no damage (see my thread about power consumption).

I had a Zalman 7700-CU at full RPM on that one.

I would keep temperature below 60C.

I also have alot of fans insight but try a little 80mm over your mosfets

--> pwmic will go down 20 degrees :-) (me : 70+ to 50+)

I thought my machine ran sub 40c temps at load, but found out that my cooler works really well and the cpu cools down in seconds. also found that my temps were closer to 50c when pushed hard. You're running less cpuv. than I use but temps seem real low. I run 1.64v. cpu 24/7
