daniel_resist Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Hello, i'm having trouble when i try to turn on the PC.. The power leds are all lit (stand-by and ram) and diagnostic don't even blink. What happens is the following: I turn on the power and the coolers try to start spinning but it shut down after 100ms.. Chipset and processors' coolers don't spin. After that, the power leds are still on. I tried to Clear CMOS, changing RAM's slots, checked everything once and once again... and nothing.. Please, someone give me an idea.. I don't know what else can I do.. Maybe RMA?
Gipse Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Hi, Maybe it´s because of your PSU, 480W and a strong 12v rail is what you need. Try to get an OCZ powerstream 520 and read the sticky about recommended PSU´s. try this: - set jumper to cmos clear - remove battery - wait (I would say 1h) -> relplace battery first, then the jumper Gipse
daniel_resist Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I'm certain that the problem is not the PSU.. I tried a 500W of a friend.. The same thing.. I also left a day without battery or power cable.. jumped... nothing.. Could it be corrupted BIOS? Do you hear a little noise near SPDIF jumper when you cut down the power? (I'm hearing it)

Boppo Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Do you have all four power connectors connected to the board? Have you tried pulling everything out of the case and running it as a barebones system on a static free surface?
hitman012 Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 The 500W PSU that you tried... was it a generic 500W or a brand 500 watt? Exchanging an underpowered supply for another crappy one is just going to lead you in the wrong direction when it still fails to start... centy Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 one question: how did you flash the bios when the computer powered down after 100ms? I am having the exact same problems with my nf3 ultra d board
Oceanborn Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Most lilkely the processor his friend lent him was an old clawhammer core which has no problems booting with any bioses....his processor however looks like it could be a venice core that sometimes needs a bios flash to work properly
