syneze Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 Yes, using any HSF other than stock will supposedly void your warranty...but how are they going to find out? Most HSF's come with some sort of thermal paste, my volcano 11 did anyways.
azndragon328 Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 thankz, but is the ac3 thermal paster better?
Overclocker16 Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 Yes, AS3 is better, but voids your warranty.

Overclocker16 Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 Usually anything other then stock voids the warranty.
azndragon328 Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 hey do u guyz have any more tip for me??? help me out ya?
syneze Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 Just put on the volcano 9 and the paste that comes with it (if it comes with paste..). AS3 costs 10$ Canadian for 3g tube and might help temps 2 degrees or so opposed to the thermaltake stuff.
Borgy Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 On my overclococking rig i have (purely O/cing looking for a TEC in calgary Canada ) i have a Duron 1.1g(@1.3) with a volcano 9 and it works fine as for warranty as long as you wipe it down (i use asatone) before sending it back there shouldnt be a problem but why should you need to RMA it ? the Volcano 9 will cool it far better that the Stock one so it shouldnt burn out unless your Overclocking which voids the warranty anyway Borgy
bigred Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 they know when it's been oc'd. the silicon actually starts to distort. PNY was actually able to tell my brother oc'd his Ti4400 to 4600 speeds (which isn't that much) and told him it voided thier warranty. I'm sure amd can do the same thing. Overclocker16 Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 Some companies (newegg) should return OEM procs for a month OC'd or not...unless you totally fried the chip...like melted the core to a blob.
