Yes, using any HSF other than stock will supposedly void your warranty...but how are they going to find out? Most HSF's come with some sort of thermal paste, my volcano 11 did anyways.

Just put on the volcano 9 and the paste that comes with it (if it comes with paste..). AS3 costs 10$ Canadian for 3g tube and might help temps 2 degrees or so opposed to the thermaltake stuff.

On my overclococking rig i have (purely O/cing looking for a TEC in calgary Canada )

i have a Duron 1.1g(@1.3) with a volcano 9 and it works fine

as for warranty as long as you wipe it down (i use asatone)

before sending it back there shouldnt be a problem

but why should you need to RMA it ?

the Volcano 9 will cool it far better that the Stock one

so it shouldnt burn out unless your Overclocking which

voids the warranty anyway

Borgy

they know when it's been oc'd. the silicon actually starts to distort. PNY was actually able to tell my brother oc'd his Ti4400 to 4600 speeds (which isn't that much) and told him it voided thier warranty. I'm sure amd can do the same thing.
