Hey, this is a long thread indeed, I wonder if something else was said about Kingston modules besides that is not recomended (first post).

I'm not a big OC'er or gamer but still I would like to know why Kingston is not recomended, since I did buy a set of 2x512mb PC3200 but haven't instal yet.

Any input over this issue?

Hi, a little help please!

I'm thinking about buying some::::

Crucial Technology Ballistix 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT6464Z402 - Retail

Timing: 2-2-2-6

Voltage: 2.8V

This is for my Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert. Would this work well????

Hello,

apassgear For some reason kingston modules do not always work well.

You may find that you will need to adjust a lot of timings to get it to work, and it may not run at the rated timings.

For that reason Kingston modules are not recommended.

NeilFogg

Yeah they will work well but why not consider a 2x1GB kit?

guys,

i'am torn between gskill's 2GBHS at 230USD, OCZ 2048ELCTE-K at 224USD, and team xStream's TXDR2048M500HC3DC-S at 201USD

all except ocz(using TCB3?) are using UCCC chips.

my reason for changing is because my corsair might have compatibility issues with my ultra D

thanks.

btw, any pref between zipzoomfly, tankguys and newegg?

forgive me for my noob's qns. Would cloaking be much more diffcuit with 4 x 512 ram? Currently owns a patriot 1Gb set (512x2) + XBLK, thinking of grabbing another set of it... would it be recommended? or should i just sell it and buy a set of 2 Gb set(1gbx2)

coke29

If your apps need more than 2x1gb then 4gb would be better.

Icez84

Yeah it would be, Ocing results/setting will need to be changed.

And you would need to run 4 sticks at 2T command rate. (A small performance hit)
