Ive been using Nero for the longest time and I recently reformatted the HD. I installed Nero and went to use it and I cant get it to burn anything it just keeps asking me to save the .img file. The Wizard does not let me burn at all it just prompts me to save the .img to a directory. I goto the menu and select RECORDER and then Choose Recorder and my cdrw is not listed there it says that my device is "Image Recorder" So then I try to got the "Auto detect CD Rom" menu and its "grayed out". Iver tried uninstalling it twice and it doesnt work. Anyone have any ideas at all....its killin me I have some stuff I need to burn asap.

ah man, I remember I had that problem a few weeks ago, I dont remember how I fixed it though, I think I just played with nero for a while, and I might have reinstalled drivers for my cd-rw. Good luck man.

  • 4 weeks later...

I haven't been able to get NERO to work on my new system at all! I had 5.9.x.x and it wouldn't see either of my CD drives, only my STEALTH one (Daemon)

I upgraded to 6.0.11 and now it sees the drives, but when I try to burn it tells me the drive is in use by another application, which it is not. I am curious and also a little suspicious that maybe NERO isn't compatible with NForce based mobo's. I know I am not the only person to have experienced this particular problem, and also the reason I suspect this is because I needed to check my HDD integrity using powermax, and the program doesn't work on NForce boards (this info I found on the maxtor site, after ofcourse I had tried the program and swore at my machine countless times)

Anyone have any ideas?

p.s. I also have an A7N8X deluxe, rev 1.1.

ASUS has it now, it died on me when I tried to update the BIOS to 1006. Wouldn't even POST.

yo my friend has an a7n8x board and the same thing happened with his nero...I think he just fooled around and got it to work...ie. uninstalling, etc. I have an FIC nForce2 baord and nero works great , so I dont think it could be the chipset.
