DevilDriver Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 How much higher vcore than set in bios is normal on this board? now that I am stable at stock on this board(see sig but with ocz el gold) I decided to try to oc my cpu again. I ran S&M and passed, but I had my vcore set to 1.55v in bios and it peaked at 1.64v staying about 1.6v during the fpu test. Is it normal for this baord to front this much voltage when the cpu wants it? When using the MSI neo plat I had to set it to 1.6v to oc, so Im not worried about the voltage so much as the board going .05v+ over what I had set in bios. Right now Im back to stock. please let me know if this is normal of this mobo so I know if its safe to persue my oc..
Guest Blooz1 Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 What did you have your "CPU VID Special" set to? That will add to whatever your VCORE is set at by a percentage amount, hence "+110%", etc.
DevilDriver Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 cpu vid special was set to default auto. On my MSI it took 1.6v to get 210fsb stable so I decided to try 1.55v on this mobo just to see. it appears it will do it, but with fronting the cpu .05+ volts.
