Guest jasonh Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 I went with these settings: with the 5/10-2 bios you should be able to set these DRAM Timings: DRAM Configuration Settings: DRAM Frequency Set - 200 (DRAM/FSB:1/01) Command Per Clock (CPC) - Enable CAS Latency Control (Tcl) - 2.0 RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd) - 02 Bus Clocks Min RAS# active time (Tras) - 05 Bus Clocks Row precharge time (Trp) - 02 Bus Clocks Row Cycle time (Trc) - 07 Bus Clocks Row refresh cyc time (Trfc) - 17 Bus Clocks Row to Row delay (Trrd) - 02 Bus Clocks Write recovery time (Twr) - 02 Bus Clocks Write to Read delay (Twtr) - 02 Bus Clocks Read to Write delay (Trwt) - 02 Bus Clocks Refresh Period (Tref) - 3120 Cycles Write CAS Latency (Twcl) - Auto DRAM Bank Interleave - Enabled DQS Skew Control - Auto DQS Skew Value - 0 DRAM Drive Strength - Auto DRAM Data Drive Strength - Auto Max Async Latency - Auto Read Preamble Time - Auto IdleCycle Limit - 256 Cycles Dynamic Counter - Disable R/W Queue Bypass - 16 x Bypass Max - 07 x 32 Byte Granularity - Disable(8 Bursts) For some reason if I open like 3 instances of ultima online (which isn't demanding..) or if i leave my pc running for a while (like 3 days) it'll randomly blue screen... The last big issue was yesterday it was so bad that when it blue screened, i restaretd and i got the wonderful "error loading operating system." after trying everything i ended up having to reformat :/ I thought that might have stopped the blue screens but in ultima again today i had 3 instanes of Ultima online going fine but then i opened a 4th and bam blue screen... Any ideas?
RGone Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 RazerDiamondback Mouse (Best Ever) Maybe but there certainly are users of the thing reporting the drivers cause crashes as I cruise the net. Think two users in here even mention and oddity. RGone..
Guest jasonh Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 so you're thinking its my razer drivers O.o... I highly doubt that because it didn't start before this motherboard and ram. I thought it could possibly be my atheros wireless drivers but I don't know...

lordbane Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Row Cycle time (Trc) - 07 Bus Clocks Row refresh cyc time (Trfc) - 17 Bus Clocks Hmmm....I thought that the RAM configuration guide says that it's best to keep these within 2-3 of each other for best results. I have mine at 09/12 respectively. That's the only thing in your RAM config that stands out for me as being a possible issue. An unstable overclock (especially with memory) can cause corruption on hard drives. I've had it happen to me a few times when pushing my system a little too hard. I assume it passes MEMTEST, etc ok? Prime95 stable? How are your temps in the case?
Guest jasonh Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Ya temps are cool everythings great. I dunno about setting them within 2-3 of each other that's just what was PM'ed to me when I personally asked angry... So you think i should change thoes to what you have: Row Cycle time (Trc) - 09 Bus Clocks Row refresh cyc time (Trfc) - 12 Bus Clocks

Sharp Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Bump What BIOS are you using? Did you plug all 4 power connectors into the board. GENIE BIOS Setting >DRAM Configuration..................Press Enter = New Menu FSB BUS Frequency....................200 DRAM Voltage Control.................2.7V GENIE BIOS Setting >DRAM Configuration DRAM Frequency Set (MHZ).............200 (DRAM/FSB:1/01) Command per clock (CPC)..............Enabled Cas latency (tCL)....................2 RAS to CAS delay (tRCD)..............3 Min RAS active time (tRAS)...........6 Row precharge time (tRP).............3 Row cycle time (tRC).................11 Row refresh cycle time(tRFC).........14 Row to Row delay (tRRD)..............3 Write recovery time (tWR)............2 Write to read delay (tWTR)...........1 Read to write delay (tRWT)...........1 Refresh period (tREF)................AUTO Write CAS latency (tWCL).............1 DRAM Bank Interleave.................Enabled DQS Skew Control.....................Decrease Skew DQS Skew Value.......................0 DRAM Drive Strength..................AUTO DRAM Data Drive Strength.............AUTO Max Async Latency....................6ns Dram Response........................Normal Read Preamble Time...................5ns Idle Cycle Limit.....................AUTO Dynamic Counter......................Disabled R/W Queue Bypass.....................AUTO Bypass Max...........................AUTO 32 Byte Granularity..................Disable (8 Bursts)
Guest jasonh Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 THe bios is the one that Angry told me to use so probably the one it's supposed to be And no i did not connect 4 connectors into my board because there are only 3. The 24pin, the 4pin and the one that looks like your standard cd/dvd/hd power cable. Also these settings: GENIE BIOS Setting >DRAM Configuration..................Press Enter = New Menu FSB BUS Frequency....................200 DRAM Voltage Control.................2.7V GENIE BIOS Setting >DRAM Configuration DRAM Frequency Set (MHZ).............200 (DRAM/FSB:1/01) Command per clock (CPC)..............Enabled Cas latency (tCL)....................2 RAS to CAS delay (tRCD)..............3 Min RAS active time (tRAS)...........6 Row precharge time (tRP).............3 Row cycle time (tRC).................11 Row refresh cycle time(tRFC).........14 Row to Row delay (tRRD)..............3 Write recovery time (tWR)............2 Write to read delay (tWTR)...........1 Read to write delay (tRWT)...........1 Refresh period (tREF)................AUTO Write CAS latency (tWCL).............1 DRAM Bank Interleave.................Enabled DQS Skew Control.....................Decrease Skew DQS Skew Value.......................0 DRAM Drive Strength..................AUTO DRAM Data Drive Strength.............AUTO Max Async Latency....................6ns Dram Response........................Normal Read Preamble Time...................5ns Idle Cycle Limit.....................AUTO Dynamic Counter......................Disabled R/W Queue Bypass.....................AUTO Bypass Max...........................AUTO 32 Byte Granularity..................Disable (8 Bursts) I guess I can just change mine to them, but what will this do for my pc? Will it slow it down? I thought the 2-2-2-5 was better :/ I don't encode so i figured the tighter the better.
Sharp Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Hello, There are 4 power connectors. - Look under the CPU socket for the floppy one. The timings I said are like a fail safe set. Yes they are slower than 2-2-2-5 but should work for any 2-2-2-5 module. When try to solve a problem you should test loose timings. Make sure you put the 4th power connector into the board, this might solve your problem.
Guest jasonh Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Ok I changed the settings to what you suggested, and the only thing that I couldn't change was: 32 Byte Granularity..................Disable (8 Bursts) I don't have Disable (8 bursts) I only have: Disable (2 bursts) and Disable (4 bursts)
