NickNeedsANAme Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 So, i got home today and there were 3 medium sized packages waiting for me. Gleefully i took them to my basement. I put all the parts together, and turned the box on and yay! it all worked. The boot said it checked my 4 gigs of RAM so they were working, so i went into BIOS settings. I've never done RAID before so i went into advanced and set RAID to Enabled. Then i went and switched SATA RAID 1 and 2 to Enabled, the logic being i need RAID to be enabled before i do anything. I restart the system and then it does some stuff whirrr whirrr whirrr blah blah and i get this screen saying push f10 for RAID setup. I start jammin on my f10 key and nothing. I figger, meh, it's prolly cuz i'm using a USB keyboard, let me reboot w/ a PS/2 keyboard. NOTE: TO THIS POINT STUFF SHOWS UP ON MY SCREEN. WHEN I BOOT I GET A COOL LaNPaRtY LOGO THING. So i reboot, and everythign turns on, all the fans start spinning, glowy lights on, etc. but NOTHING COMES ON THE SCREEN. THERE IS NOTHING SHOWING UP. I've been looking on these forums for about an hour and i get nothing :-. I tried reseating Video Card, i tried clearing the CMOS, granted i dont' have the patience to wait 8 hours, but still. I've tried everything i've come across on the forums that involves people with similar problems. It's the weekend so i have a few days before i need to RMA from NewEgg. all i can give you guys is the fact that i had 4 red LED's showing up and my case has a cool temp indicator. Before on boot the CPU temp was at aroudn 43 C, i assume this is because it was processing stuff like a good processor. Now, it goes to aroudn 29 C, so i think the thing is failing before it even gets to the CPU, not that that is any help to a noob like me. This is my second build, so i'm no pro. so please, somebody help me THANKS!

StephenC Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 See my signature for recommended NF4 PSU's. check out the "A" list. I would wait tell you get a "good" PSU. Go ahead and download the bios ver 623-3 from dfi's download site. This is the latest official bios. You will need to flash to at least bios ver 510-X to support your processor. Then try out of case first. With only what is required to post + floppy. No drives and one stick of ram in dimm slot 2. Have the floppy with bios ready. Make sure all is secure, and motherboard is not shorting to case or binding?
