iJeff Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 perhaps there could be a stickied list of what memory is verified to work with DFI boards and what memory we know causes trouble (like how corsair has problems). it could list like dual/single channel, how many sticks and in which slots, all that good stuff. I've heard a lot of people have trouble running 4 sticks of memory in all the slots, am wondering myself if anyone's had success. There's really just too much to know about how many sticks work, which memory to use, and which slots to use. a question on the side, (which prompted me to post the main topic of this thread) has anyone gotten the 2x 1GB OCZ Plat 3200 sticks to work in the Ultra-D? I know many people have had luck with the 2x512, but I haven't heard much in the way of the 1GB sticks. I crave lots of ram for games like BF2 and FEAR. Sgro Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 I think it may also be helpful for the most common sticks BIOS settings to be stickied.
Sharp Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Hello, Not finished yet. (must add 2x512MB / 2x1GB sections) http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23323 For any Dual channel memory controller it is always best to use 2 matched sticks. 4 = a problem due to the AMD memory controller on the CPU, not DFI's fault. What slots? ------------ Always the Orange slots by default. 2x1GB kits that work ---------------------- Crucial BallistiX PC4000 2x1GB Tracer/non-Tracer http://www.crucial.com/ballistix/store/Par...T12864L503&cat= http://www.crucial.com/ballistix/store/Par...T12864Z503&cat= OCZ EL platinum 2x1GB PC3200 http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memo...hannel_platinum OCZ EL Gold Edition 2x1GB PC4000 http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memo...al_channel-2gb_
THunDA Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 If you look through the Overclocking Database you'll see which sticks most people are using and work well ..
sabinus Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Yes, I subscribe to this idea.. there are so many RAM manufacturers, each having particular settings working well.
