ButchGod Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 After installing my new hard drives and installing the drivers off the disc that came with the board, everything is now so slow. I have to wait for 72 passes of the blue dashed bar on the windows splash screen and my internet connection is "whack" slow connections if any. Games seem to play okay(just tried 2) but other computers on my network will blow right by me, and they are smaller computers ie. xp2400. Where should I start looking to fix this problem????? I did a fresh install of windows
Guest Lucky Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 I would start with jumper settings on the HDDs.
ButchGod Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 There isn't a jumper on the sata and I removed the jumper from the non-sata
ButchGod Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Is there a sticky or thread that I should read?????
blinker0 Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Try looking in Device manager and see if the SATA drive is using the correct drivers. On mine it shows in removable hardware as its supposed to be hot swappable.. To see if it is look for the remove hardware Icon in taskbar
ButchGod Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 When I look in the remove hardware icon my SATA drive pops up.
blinker0 Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 that is a good sign. I would try bootvise for speeding up boot time. Also which dive is the boot drive the SATA or the IDE h/D. If it is on the SATA drive have you tried unhooking the IDE drive to see if that makes a difference? And if windows is on the SATA DID you have the IDE drive in when you installed windows? If you did that may also contribute to it
jamie hayman Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Sound like windows is looking for the network, that's why it's taking so long.. Reconfigure all computers on network.. learners permit Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Uninstall the nvidia ide drivers and use the windows default driver for ide devices they work much better.
