Have got a replacement BIOS chip but it won't boot (now 4 LEDs)

Recommended Posts

My original problem started in this thread.

After speaking to DFI support they sent me a replacement BIOS chip. I've put it in but now when it powers up it gets stuck on 4 LEDs on. With the old chip I get to 2 LEDs on. Is there something I need to do to activate this chip or to clear it or what? I haven't done anything else yet because I don't want to make any mistakes on this one!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers,

Phil

Please add your PSU brandmodel to your sig.. also what type of ram your using (be more specific then just saying pc2700) and bios version.. Those things are much more important to list then your mouse and keyboard.. ;)

Do you have any other ram to try ? Maybe borrow some from a friend..

I don't know what type of ram it is other than Crucial PC2700. The power supply is a Thermaltake 550W PSU. I don't know what version the BIOS is because its a replacement chip sent by DFI. Everything was working fine for months though, the memory worked perfectly, the PSU was great, the processor ran wonderfully, everything was fine.
