Hans Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Hi all, I am about to upgrade my pc and am picking up my bits (sig) today, and shall be playing over the weekend. Any tips / pitfalls to look out for, given the equipment I've chosen? Thanks. Paul

OceanSeasforMe Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 G'day, I agree with Blooz1 and its why I try to steer people to that thread it as it helped me a lot. (post 49 page 4 is the one, but read the whole thread as it is informative.) Also, Specific part numbers will help you find any specific issues or problems. Read all the *(applicable) stickys in this forum and link off them and it is not that hard to figure out. (but if you do encounter problems the nice people in this forum are always astounding me with their depths of knowledge and someone will be able to help you.) Best of luck with it. Hans Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Thanks for the replies. I have updated my sig. Don't know exactly what PSU it is. From my old system. Will check that tonight and update sig again then. Is the ADA4000DEP5BN (90nm) better than the ADA4000DEP5AS (130nm) ? Thanks. sthaznpride17 Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 yes the 90 nm is better, it runs a bit cooler
SnooP Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 yeah 90nm is a better. runs cooler/uses less power and overclocks a lot better to.

Sharp Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Hello, Looks like GEIL ultra platinum PC4400 3-4-4-8. Not a bad choice if you had an Intel board, these modules feature Hynix chips. They may be ok at 200Mhz but when you start Overclocking it may become very unstable. But, lets wait and see.
superflyguy Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Just don't scrimp on the PSU, make sure it is a quality unit. If you get El Cheapo 1000Watt unit, you'll regret it!
