Nek Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 Hi, I got everything I need. I connected the video card, ram, CPU, heatsink, the 4 power cables. Now I connected it to the PSU, the PSU got power, now I see 2 yellowish LEDs on my mobo, on right next to the ram and one right below the expantion slots... does that mean it's safe for me to switch the mobo on? OceanSeasforMe Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 hit the button already man ~! *(first thing I would do is disable splashscreen in bios.)
Nek Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 I did, then like a couple red lights lighted up and the screen seemed okay. When I looked back at the red LEDs, they were gone andI think the screen was stuck.
OceanSeasforMe Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 from link in righthand side of my signature. Here is the way to read the Diagnostic LEDs. 4 LEDs on = Power applied 3 LEDs on = CPU has been detected OK 2 LEDs on = RAM has been detected OK 1 LED on = VGA has been detected OK 0 LEDs on = System has booted to the Operating System. As long as you are in the BIOS including running memtest from the BIOS option, there will be one LED on. If you are getting 3 LEDs on, it means the rig is having trouble detecting the RAM. ________________________________________________________________Also, nf4 guide in my sig might help you. also if you are at one led and stuck at the splash screen *(on the display) then its a good thing. Restart and tap the delete key and get into bios and turn off splashscreen. edit : oh, revision E CPU ? you need a later bios I think. 6/23 oifficial is a good place to start. OceanSeasforMe Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Nothing is wrong. Your board is alive and well and all you need to do is finish setting it up. Try Ed j's nf4 build guide in my signature. I have seen threads with a better answers on the PXE-E61 Media test failed. if you pop it into search you should get plenty of hits tips and resolutions.
