Your PSU is one factor, so try other higher power PSU to eliminate this possibility. If CPU Temp. suddenly heat up from 37 to 70, that's something wrong, You sure you put in your HS right? I mean you have AS5 or other thermal paste put on it? Double check or redo it again just in case. After 1 - 2 hrs PC freezes or shuting down, looks like related to overheat. Cause it was working fine until you start something which boost the CPU utilization. And did you start OC yet or everything still at stock? Please provide more info like BIOS version, your 24pin is it native or using converter? Which slot you put your ram on? Post your BIOS settings & memory timing will really help us to see what's went wrong. So, find out those info & post back. Then we will be able to assist you better.

BTW, welcome to the forum. :cat:

You have a heatsink issue if your temps change that much under a load.

Check to insure your heatsink is properly seated on your CPU, and that you applied the thermal paste properly (if you didn't use the stock AMD thermal pad).

Don't waste your time with the PSU just yet, it should have no effect your temp jumping up that high. after you solve your heat issue, if you have more problems, then look at your PSU as the culprit.

Its sound like ur Bios is shuting you down to protect ur CPU from frying, you need to find the cause for this 1st, then worry ubout changing ur PSU, ive just been playing BF2 for 3 hrs, and my CPU is only 37, system 48 GPU 49 all running on stock just to give you and idea, CPU is 34 all other times!

:shake:

LOL u do need a 400 watt min as stated in the manual but you need to look further down the road as to what you might add to ur rig in the future like will you add more HD or Graphics cards etc im only using 450 psu but if i had to buy another one to more it would be 520 or more if i could afford, BUT 1st fix you heat problem, take it to someone if you must! be sure to check it working then put it under load and make sure it speeds up also run speedfan or something, Good Luck and may the force be with you! :D
