OCZ DDR600 2x512 advice

Recommended Posts

I am going to be ordering memory from newegg soon to replace my ballistix

memory. Is anyone using these:

OCZ Enhanced Latency 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM

Platinum Elite Edition

DDR 600 (PC 4800) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory

Model OCZ6001024EEPE-K - Retail

Besides $40 is there any difference from these:

OCZ 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM

Platinum Limited Edition

DDR 600 (PC 4800) Unbuffered Dual Channel Platinum System Memory

Model OCZ6001024ELDCPE-K - Retail

They both run the same speed and same timings(2nd on runs .05V

higher). I thought I read that the Elite Edition is hand tested and

doesn't OC much since it's at it's max already.

Any help is appreciated!

Peter

The Elite Edition uses TCCD and the other one uses TCC5..

I dont think they will be 'much' different but the TCCD 'might' do a little better..

FYI.. I have two sets of 4200el that are TCC5 and they both do 300htt 1:1..

yep me too my 4200el's with tcc5 are 300 1:1 and can go further

My ocz PC4200 EL Platinum is very nice but my PC4800 EE Platinum is super great and OCZ Warrabtees that the 4800 Elite Ediyion contain Samsung Tccd chips. I' sitting here running dual SuperPi at 280 and I intend to run a pair of Prime95 tonight. I guess I lucked out with my X2 and got two good cores. When I tried to run dual at 286, one core bombed out. I can't run occt at 286 either, but I gad problem lasst week at 246 with cpu/11 and then decided to try cpu/10. These 4800 memtested to 345 with 9/10 but under 303 at 1/1.

I love ths board and maybe Travis can find problem with my other board.

Oh yeah, I was having trouble with stability at 275 and almost gave up but decided to try one little bump on my Vcore from 1.488 to 1.552, wow it worked real good and the other day I tried this voltage and I couldn't boot up. I think it got hungry.

I hope your PC4800 EE is just as nice or better.

Ok well I ordered the platinum limited edition set and have been very happy with

them. So far the best I can do is [email protected] with 2.5-4-8-3-11 timings(all other

timings are optimized defaults).

Unfortunately now my 3500+ venice won't stay stable at anything over it's stock

clock speed. I can't even get 210HTT out of it @1.45-1.63v:confused: but I have another

thread for that :)

Overall I am very satisfied with this stuff and although it doens't overclock that

well(313HTT@[email protected]) it runs excellent at high DDR speeds with pretty

good timings.

Thanks for the advice!

Peter
