I really need someones HELP to have the proper settings for a good OC using 2x1GB ballistix PC4000 RAM. My board should be here tomorrow, and I know I will run into problems cause I'll be so overwelmed by all the BIOS settings for the RAM, you know what I mean! If someone could PLEASE help me find the right settings for (lets say) 260FSB OC (im using an FX57) you would be my BEST friend  . Also, im hearing alot of people saying to use different colored slots for the ram, which would I use? This is my first DFI board (SLI-DR) and I really hope this will provide me a STABLE OC. Thanks a million everyone......

Let's try this:

1/Load optimal setting

2/Change what you need for CPU FSP (260??)

3/ In memory setting: leave everything as optimal EXCEPT: CPC, Cas, Trcd, Trp & Tras. I only set them as 3,3,3,7.

My Ballistix seem like optimal & 3,3,3,8 or 3,3,3,7 INSTEAD of its spec: 3,4,4,8. Also keep it on 2.7V or 2.8V.

Hope that help.

Regards

You can leave the other memory settings at the same as the optimal defaults. FSB 260X11 is stock for a FX 57 (2.8GHz). You WILL want to OC that puppy, for sure. Digest the OC stickies. See what your hot Ballistix will do, then overclock the cpu with the memory out of the equation. Next, OC the system using what you have learned. Go about it methodically and find your sweet spot. You will need to do lots of testing as you go. Don't just plug in someone else's settings. They might work, but, just as likely, they won't. Use the database as a guide only. You will eventually get some awesome numbers.

Hi Tyler, I have almost the same system specs as you. I haven't OC'd yet, not until I think I have enough info digested to do it safely. I have a couple of questions for you, are those your final (highest/stable) OC specs? Why did you you decide to use the 623-2 BIOS? Thanks

Good question! Is the 623-3 BIOS not so good for the ballistix?
