gtrdude485 Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 EDIT: So now i cant even run 3dMark 05 at stock settings. Whats going on here?! I tried to reinstall drivers and that doesnt work either?! I'm getting crashes in 3DMark 05/03 everytime i run them. I BARELY have my 6800GT OC'd 375/1.075 which is below the "optimal" from coolbits. I went into my bios to check everythign out...... My PCI config is x2 x1 x16 x1 and I cant change it. Does that mean i should have the vga in the third slot? Any recommendations would be awesome as well as recommendations for aftermarket cooling cuz im getting temps up to about 74 on load. Using 78.01from Nvidia and 6.66 nForce. (i heard the 78.03 from DHzer0point were good. if anyone is using these let me know that woudl be sweet) sorry lots of ?'s in this one :shake:
EvilCloudStrife Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 before you overclock anything make sure it runs alright as stock. then if it does, start oc and inch up little by little. a good overclocker takes hours and hours to test and check his work to make sure everything is stable. i would go stock and then test 3dmark2003/05 first
RGone Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 I agree with E_C_S as in taking time to push anything toward an overclock. This is what one would see for one card in top slot and with SLI like jumpers set to non-SLI position. """config is x2 x1 x16 x1""" and has NOT one d*mn thing to with with 3Dmarks crashing at all. gtrdude485 Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 thanks. yea i understand about the OCing and taking time. took me forever to get my max CPU. when i forst got the card i did run it at stock. i ran 3DMark like 3 days ago and i was getting scores that were ok on above optimal settings from coolbits. I actually lowered my clock speeds than what the were when i got the scores and now i cant even get through a full test.....? i understand about the bios having nothign to do with the crashes but i was just wondering if my vga is only running at 2x rather than 16x becasue the first slot is only 2x and thats where the card is right now. Boppo Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 First slot is 16X, the second one is 2x. Unless you move the SLI jumpers then they are both 8x.

E.G my 7800 GT stock 450/1050 {factory OC} max 490/1260 stable 475/1202 safe and sound running with stock cooling!
