marvell NIC issues in windows after suse dual boot install

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, First time poster here. I hope someone here has linux/windows experience and can help me out

Roomate convinced me to set up a dual boot install of suse on my computer, after weeks of bugging me i decided to do it, and besides i needed to start using it for work so i figured what the hell!

Setup seemed to run fairly smooth, surprisingly, all my devices were detected under linux, (still have to configure my dual screen set up but save that for later smile.gif. After a few hours in linux i tried to reboot back into windows, but then to my dismay I my NIC card would report that my "network cable is unplugged" which it clearly isn't! i checked my nic card's cable and port to the wall, rebooted back into linux and it worked...

Also my NIC card was working absolutely fine in windows until i installed SUSE, i don't understand how installing suse would cause windows to not be able to detect the cable being plugged into the NIC. I am using the Marvell gigabit controller ethernet card in my motherboard.

Tried removing marvell controller in device manager, and then have it autodetect again, still doesnt work

i tried a system restore point from an hour before i installed suse as well, still doesn't work.

As a workaround right now i am using the nforce 4 gigabit controller when im in windows, but this is just a workaroudn and i would like to get the other one to work as well ( was using both for in-apartment networking) Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? I really need help on this, as i most definately still need to use internet in windows!

Thanks for all your help
