nfpgasmask Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Hi all, i'm new to the FORUM, so hopefully this is not a redundant question. I am on the verge of buying a DFI LANPARTY 875P-T Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 875P ATX Intel Motherboard and I am wondering if anyone out there has put a 'J' type intel proc in with no problems. The proc I am looking to get is a Intel Pentium 4 550J Prescott 800MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor. The 'J' type proc means that it has the "execute disable bit". I have no experience with these types of procs so I am wondering if anyone out there has used this type of chip in the above mentioned DFI mobo. Thanks - Bart
red930 Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Welcome to DFI-Street nfpgasmask! Just a friendly reminder here...even if you are still building your system, could you please update your sig to reflect what you are planning on getting or already have? Thanks! In answer to your question, yes the 550J will work just fine with the 875P-T. If the CPU you are getting is also EM64T (64 Bit) enabled, then you will need to make sure the BIOS is dated 02/25/05 or later.
