boqonx Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Dear everybody, I've just built a PC for my friend and here's the spec: DFI LP NF4 Ultra-D AMD64 Venice 3000+ 1GB Corsair PC4400C25 Winfast GeForce 6800GT 256MB 500w Aspire 24-Pin - Dual 12v I built them all up, plug the power supply to the power outlet and i saw normal LEDs lit (the one beside the memory slots and one near the pci slot), but strangely it won't turn on! Even i've tried using the EZ-On on the board. Can somebody please help me? Thanks in advance...
RGone Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Try ""exactly"" this. Remove power from the system. Pull cord from wall if you must. Or from rear of power supply. Remove the battery. Move the CMOS jumper to clear. Move the speaker jumper to on position. Page 7 quick start manual. Make sure you have a wired keyboard plugged into the PS2 port. Not USB in other words. USB to PS2 OK. Leave the CMOS jumper at clear for at least 30 minutes. Put ONLY one ( 1 ) stick of memory in ORANGE slot closest the top edge of motherboard. Set the CMOS jumper back to normal. Replace the battery. Press and hold down the "Insert" Key on the keyboard. Apply power to power supply again WITH "Insert" key still pressed down. Press the start/power on button on the rig. WITH the "Insert" key still pressed down. When you hear the beep from the speaker. Release the "Insert" Key and quickly press the "Delete" key and enter the bios and load optimized defaults. Save and Exit bios and reboot to enter bios to make necessary adjustments. RGone...

boqonx Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 It's cool man..but dangerous =P I assume that there's no problem with the power supply because i also have a rig with 7800GTX & 3 HDDs, 3000+ Venice o/ced rock stable.. Mike W Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 I have the same problem. After reading through the forum and trying every suggestion I could find, I think I have a bad board or processor. This PC was used about 4 months and started doing blue screens and bailing to the desktop on some games. It then quit on me in stages. It now has the 4 lights and won't go past that despite trying different memory (including 1 stick), power supply, isolating the board, cleared cmos, nothing will work. I went ahead and ordered another board from the egg to try to determine if it IS the board. I guess my son will benefit from an upgrade after I use it for diagnosis I was happy with the board until it started choking on me (if it is the board). I must say that I might have RMA'd it for another board if it wasn't for this resource. I am impressed with the wealth of info here and am anxious to learn and play with BOTH of the 64 boards we'll have shortly. Thanks guys
