Guest Fubar Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Hello, as you can see in my Sig right now I am running Standard all the way. The next couple'a days I'll have some time to kill. This rig was bought to be overclocked. Will the 704-2BTA work fine with my Hardware? Is there also a way to flash it the old fashion way with a floppy? Since my H²0 is pretty good I'll guess I could reach the 3,2 Ghz with my CPU. It is pretested till 3ghz with air cooling.
Guest caffeinejunkie Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Im assuming the mem is tccd so the 704-2bt should be perfect i used it for a while but switched around a bit and landed on the 3/29/
Guest Fubar Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I changed my Signature. Made a mistake. Don't have 3200. I got PC-4000 running at 2-3-3-3-7. According to this page there is a chance that I do not have TCCD. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=50010 What to do? I really do not feel like removing the headspreaders. Cantras Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I have pretty much the same System including the same RAM. Does anyone have an idea how to check if the chips on the DIMM are TCCC, TCCD or BH ? Bye, Cantras
Guest Fubar Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Is there a thorough Explanation of every BIOS Setting? Preferably this 704-2BTA ? Maybe with recommendations etc. I would like to have some sort of Guide in order to tune the heck out of my system.
THunDA Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 The best you will get is the overclocking guide stickied in the overclocking forum..
Uber-Noober Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 From my sig, this is the best I can do with my Overclock using the 6-23 BIOS. (E3 Venice) However, I know with my cooling and power supply I should be able to get at least 2700 MHz. Many others have managed to get this mark with Venices and OCZ Plat Rev.2 . Do you think I should give this BIOS a try or is 2500 MHz the peak of all peaks for my system. I have a fleeting hope that the memory divider "bug" I have is most likely fixed with this 7-04BTA BIOS. SO folks? WHat you think 6-23 or 7-04BTA? Your opinions I take seriously....
red930 Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Have you checked the OCDB for a similar setup as yours?
Dutch Guy Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Recently I bought 2Gb of OCZ gold XTC PC3200 but the SPD is 2.5-3-3-8 and the label on the sticks says 2-3-2-8 which is correct and should i use with the 704-2bta BIOS?
Nil Einne Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 The label is correct. The SPD is sometimes set higher to avoid possibly problems with some mobos/configs. However if you RAM is rated at 2-3-2-8 then it should run at 2-3-2-8 and if not, you should be entitled to RMA it. Make sure that OCZ doesn't rate the RAM differently for AMD
dbius Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Hi Guys! I don't understand it clearly, so THIS bios can use with EVERY DFI NF4 board? (with expert and venus too??? ) THX! dbius
soundx98 Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 No, not the Infinity boards. There is a different version for the Expert boards. There is no Version for the Venus. But yes it is for all The LanParty NF4 boards including SLI and SLI-DR versions. I'd suggest the 03/29/2006 or later for the Venus. Don't flash if you have no issues. (727 is a kewl number)
