Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D + Gskill PC4400 Instability

Try to reflash the same bios, according to DFI instructions.

It solved some problems for me when I initially set-up the board. Setup was not smooth here either...

Tried it twice already, flashed it to 623-3 out of the box and then to 702-3 to see if that solved any problems. And back again to 623-3.

 

Do you remmember exactly what settings you made in teh bios to get your LD ram to work? Do you have an MSN adress where we could talk more easely than on these forums?

Well i tried a different PSU that i know works with roughly the same system. Still the same problems though.

 

Don't really know what else to do other than to run it at 2T timings.

So now it is down to the board or CPU (memory controller on it).

 

I think its the CPU.

Yeah, i'm returning my friends PSU tonight and beat him till he lets me try his 3500+ venice.

 

BTW, thanks for all the help up untill now, i really apreciate it.

Uhh... come to think of it, i don't recall ever setting the memory manualy to 1T on my A8N, i've just let it sit there on auto for the past 8 months, asuming that it was doing 1T.

 

Guess what happened, i just set it to 1T, it bsods before even making it into Windows, i think its borked, i won't know for sure though untill i test with the other CPU.

My cpu is also a 3500 winnie week 51 04 which seem to have a poor reputation.

 

Got my MSI 7030 to 270x9 on 3200 with this memory. So results so far are dissapointing

 

Disappointed 0451 EPMW

 

I originally set it up along lines similar toTCCD DDR600+ DFI nF4 Ultra/SLI guide got memtest errors & dropped voltage to 2.6v worked a treat @240x11.

 

However have since had problems similar to you describe, running Higher htt, even with lower cpu speed.Have just about got stable @280 x 9 . But it's been quite difficult as memtest reports a lot of clean passes even tried floppy v1.6. XP boots up every time it's just stability & bsod issues.

 

My current settings are:-

FSB Bus Frequency 280

LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio 3

CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio 9

PCI-Express Frequency 101

CPU VID Control 1.475

CPU VID Special Control 110% (Gives about 1.62v in MBM)

Don't know if those will help u.

Didn't expect to have to turn up the CPU Volts so early.

Those settings/similar have been having clean overnight 20+ passes in memtest.

 

So i'm coming round tp CPU being crap, as sharp suggested.

will happily revisee my opinion if any1 has some ideas i might have missed.

I've tried settings similar to those and some variations of them, the only stability i get is when i disable CPC (set it to 2T).

 

And especialy since the same thing is happening on my A8N, putting it on 1T makes it go baibai as well.

 

I'm going to borrow that 3500+ venice on sunday and try it on both my A8N and my Ultra-D.

 

 

Right now as overclocking goes, i can get it upto 260x10 @ 1.5v or so on both my A8N and my DFI (given that i set it to 2T), but that isnt very stable, it'll run for an hour or so and then it will crash.

 

250x10 is stable on my A8N and the DFI as far as i've seen (ofcourse both motherboards on 2T), i've tried higher FSB settings with lower multi's but they all end up in a horrible crash as soon as the fsb goes higher than 265.

How do i check?

 

Its not a gskill problem, i tried my old pc3200 corsair, it crashed on 1T as well

what? i need to actualy look at the cpu itself to determine this? I dont have enough thermalpaste to put it back on afterwards =P
