PC will not post after restarting/shutting down 1-2 times

Recommended Posts

Hello all... I am currently running my DFI board with 2 74GB Raptors in RAID0. I can only get the PC to post 2-3 times in a row before it refuses to POST. There are 4 RED led lights down at the bottem of the board, to the left of the first PCI slot. When the machine will not boot, the first 2 lights going left to right remain lit. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this means as it is extremely frustrating. I have tried a 2nd PSU and a 2nd PCIE video card with the same results. Ive also tested my 4 sticks of mushkin and found 1 with errors. I am now running 2 sticks that passed Memtest in the 1st/3rd slots. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Here is the way to read the Diagnostic LEDs.

4 LEDs on = Power applied

3 LEDs on = CPU has been detected OK

2 LEDs on = RAM has been detected OK

1 LED on = VGA has been detected OK

0 LEDs on = System has booted to the Operating System.

As long as you are in the BIOS including running memtest from the BIOS option, there will be one LED on.

Three LEDs means the RAM isn't passing the POST.

Do you have all 4 power connectors connected to the motherboard?

Im going from memory here (Im at work now) I have the main 24 pin header plugged in, the 4 pin square plugged in near it, and the molex plugged in below them near the middle of the board. By the 4th one do you mean the, 5V/12V Power? I have never had anything plugged in there before... Should it be used and what does it help power? ( I went home and tried running power to the system. Did not make any difference.

Thanks,
