Defective ram slots?

Well I bought another motherboard from newegg and it seems to be defective. The ram that I am using is Mushkin's Redline XP4000 512MB x 2. Well it seems slots 3 and 4 simply do not work. The board simply cannot run in dual channel. And when trying to run single sticks in slots 3 and 4 the systems refuses to boot. The system will post if the ram is in slots 1 and 2 but will only display 512MB of ram present in the system, and yes both sticks work.

I just tried running the sticks in dual channel on my other DFI NF4 rig and all seems to be fine and dandy. I've heard of people having the same problems as I have with some DFI NF4 mobos.

I wonder if there possibly anything I have forgotten to try, otherwise this board is going back for an RMA at newegg.
