Wetchaser Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 All 5 of my case, and my cpu fan get power from psu. The wire adapter u want is here http://www.svc.com/3pinto4pinad1.html Notice that once you plug it into the psu, that connector will allow you to daisy chain next fan to itself. The other leed goes to mobo connector but only uses a single wire to "give" mobo fan rpm info.
davidhammock200 Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 IMO, never draw power for fans through the mobo if there is any reasonable way to avoide it! We have problems getting +12V current to the mobo/CPU as it is, without wasting any on fans! Plug the fans in to the PSU where they belong & leave the +12V mobo current for important things, like powering the CPU! IMO, Dave

catkicker Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Hmmm. I plugged fans into three of the unused headers on my MB I thought thats why there labeled fan 4, fan5 and I plugged one into the cpu fan header.
