JayKay Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 edit: (LDT 4x) (HTT = 300) = 1200 HyperTransport  after i overclocked, some data corruption and odd screen shutting on and off appeared. is this because the hypertransport wasway too high? i had to re-install windows because of this
THunDA Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 edit: (LDT 4x) (HTT = 300) = 1200 HyperTransport  after i overclocked, some data corruption and odd screen shutting on and off appeared. is this because the hypertransport wasway too high? i had to re-install windows because of this 1200x2 for a ddr rating of 2400htt.. 400 over stock.. Dont you think thats a bit high ??.. You dont gain jack from overclocking the htt bus, so either leave it on auto or lower it to keep the total at or below 2000htt.. This has nothing to do with sata ports being locked..
JayKay Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 yeah i edited the post but i couldn't change the message title i didn't mean to up the hypertransport so high, i left it at 4x while i was changing to 300 htt.without double checking and got into trouble. so this was probably the cause of the data corruption right? THunDA Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 so this was probably the cause of the data corruption right? Most likely.. Its like trying to boot into windows when your cpu or ram is clocked too high and not stable.. It will corrupt windows..
