My New Comp (Help)

Recommended Posts

Okay guys, I got my PC assembled and working correctly (I think) I've been using it for about 2 months now.. and I have some questions...

I recently started playing this game: Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction.. and when a lot of enemys comes up (baal's minions if you play the game) I experience quite a bit of lag... This never happened on my old PC which I believe was much worse than this one...

it was the following specs:

Nvidia 6800

Intel 3.2 Prescot

1GB Kingston RAM

Asus p4p-e delux mobo

7200 RPM Seagate HD

I don't know what could be causing this to run slower... and also, when I join a game or something, sometimes the game will crash, and I will need to re-open it... also, it doesn't just run slower for one game, it's other games as well (such as Warcraft III: Frozen Throne)

Any help or suggestions on what it could be or what I should try to do to find out the problem?

Thanks,

d3aTh.w|Sh!

also, when installing prime, do i need to set up all that time it will run per day etc... and how much ram should i allow it, also, would 10 hours be sufficient? I just go to Test then Start, right? also, what could be the problem here? any ideas? and will this test be able to help me find out?

Ok..

The thing that made me think about prime was the crashing you said you get sometimes.. I would run prime and monitor your temps with mbm.. At least you will know if prime is stable and if your temps are acceptable when the system is loaded..

Then you can move on to something else..

When is the last time you did a fresh install of windows ?

the last time was the first time... which was about 2 months ago (maybe a lil more) and where can i get this mbm? Ill search google right now, but yeah... i've only installed it once, except on my old pc, but i reformated when I got the new one... it feels as if it's definately fps lag... and I don't think its my memory or video card, possibly my processor??? AMD 3800 Venice? Surely that could run a 10 year old game- haha.

When you open prime select options at the top and then torture test..

Then select blend and OK..

I would let it run for 8-10 hours..

It will stress your system and error out if something is not stable..

did you read that? -------^ (was in my last post, not sure if you saw it.)

Also, mbm5370 is the right program?

Will it log if temps go high, so I don't have to watch it, and let it go while I sleep...

Also, which test should I choose? Blend?

Thx :)

Hmm well I read it, I got the screen saver one and installed it, but it doesn't read NV cards.. and the fix says I need MBM installed, but I don't know which motherboard to pick, because I don't see mine..
