shiyan Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 After reading the stickies I know I want RAM with TCCD chips for my Venice, to replace the Geil Value PC3200 that I have, which does no more than 220Mhz. My Venice 3500+ runs 2.8Ghz with 1.47v, on the NF4 SLIDR. I'm not very familiar with how the different versions of TCCD stack up in terms of performance, and am looking through all the reviews which takes some time, so I thought it might be worth posting my choices here in case some of you RAM experts might be able to tell me which would be a good choice there's a rather large spread in prices, so I was wondering if the spread in performance is just as large? Being in Belgium, my choices seem to be limited to the following: shop 1.5 hour's drive away (3 hour round trip): Corsair TWINX1024-3200XL, 224 Euros Corsair TWINX1024-4400, 235 Euros Corsair TWINX1024-3200XLPRO, 246 Euros Corsair TWINX1024-4000PRO, 265 Euros GeIL Ultra Dual Channel 1024Mb PC3200 Platinum HSP, 152 Euros GeIL Ultra Dual Channel 512Mb PC3500 Platinum HSP, 185 Euros GeIL Ultra Dual Channel 1024Mb PC4000 Platinum HSP, 185 Euros GeIL ONE S Dual Channel 1024Mb PC3200, 258 Euros (read these do PC600 out of the box?) shop 0.5 hour's drive away (1 hour round trip): MUSHKIN 1GB DUAL PACK PC3200 222 LII V2, 222 Euros (OCZ's EL is available but just too expensive for me.... around 400 Euros for 2x512MB) It's a lot so I understand if there are no takers, but I thought it's worth a try At the moment I'm leaning towards either the Geil ONE S, Corsair 4400, or the Mushkin if I don't feel like taking the 3 hour drive

JOILNUVEN Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 If you want 300+ mhz (with decent timings 2,5/4/4/8 1T), geil one S is your way... Look this 3d for more informations http://www.hwupgrade.it/forum/showthread.php?t=851431

JOILNUVEN Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 im getting the GEIL ONE.... they are awesome! new geil one S are really fast memory...I can use them 600ddr 2.5/4/6/3 1T @2,75v... but remember: they have new (hand picked) tccd chips...i know old tccd chips (like 337,340...) are insuperable (and really awesome!)... Sure, Geil one S is (today) one of the best choice for tccd ram
Lane Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 I m exactly on same question? I can have the OCZ 4000 and 4800 plat., 4800 Elite edtion, for 300 Euros. max. But in same shop i can find too for more low prices:- - Geil 500Mhz ( i think the S one, or 3) - A-DATA Vitesta 500-600Mhz I will go for OCZ 4800 Elite Edition certainly ("standard" 4800 is TCC5, and voltage 2.85 vs 2.8V) But how work A-DATA 600Mhz?, i have see the A-DATA 633Mhz work really well, but the 500-600???? There are 2 types of Geil 500 (pc4000) : 1)the golden dragon pc4000 (Samsung WLCSP chip package ) 2)the ultra platinum pc4000 (Hynix D43).... The geil one S (Samnsung tccd) are branded pc3200(400ddr) 1.5/2/2/5 or pc4800(600ddr) 2.5/4/4/7.... there is an other version of geil one: geil one W (Winbond utt)....the brand is pc3200 1.5/2/2/5 and pc4000(500ddr) 2/2/2/5 A-data ddr(1) 633 don't exist!...you can find 3 types of a-data vitesta ddr(1) in the market: 1)vitesta pc4000 (500ddr)...chips are generally Hynix D43, D5 2)vitesta pc 4600 (570ddr)...chips are generally Samsung tccd 3)vitesta pc 4800(600ddr)...chips are generally Samsung tccd I had a pair of vitesta pc4600 on dfi nf4...300Mhz 2.5/4/7/3 1T @2,8v was stable...really good ram... The ocz plainum elite 4800 has tccd chips...new tcc5 revF are good as tccd...but I love too much tccd
Lane Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 You right. reading the text i have see it was just OC at 633 and they have put A-DATA DDR633, but it was just the speed OC..lol.. I like more the OCZ Elite Edtion 4800 using exclusively TCCD, but this give me a real high prices... For Geil DDR i can have, (but in long time: no more in stock for command), the ultra platinum 500Mhz.
