killya Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I have an 8 month old system anchored on a DFI lanparyt pro875b board. I use to oc my p4 3.0 up tp 3.6 ghz with no problems. I haven't oc'ed my system for the last 4-5 months, so I tried it again. My problem now is whenever I OC it, I can't boot to windows and it shows up; "non-raided disk" and by the next screen it says "ntldr missing" and it stops there. It seems it can't detect my HDs (2 hitachi 80gig SATA in raid 0). I then go back to bios and load optimal settings (and changing back to raid mode in integretated peripheral settings) and everythings' back to normal. It works everytime. I don't think my drives are giving in, it works perfectly in normal mode. The setting in my oc are those that i use before. So that's not the problem eithier. Is it a bios flaw?Any ideas anyone? red930 Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Make sure your AGP/PCI bus is locked to 66/33.
stevez Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Couple of things that can cause the "NTLDR Missing" message are: Loose/faulty drive cables Drives not properly set in BIOS (your Raid config)
killya Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Yes of course it is locked to 66/33. No way it is the cables, as i said it only won't detect when i load oc settings. It is also properly configured. To put it simple, it is only when i bump the fsb, vcore, vmem, adjust timimgs to 3-3-3-7 or any loose setting that it does not detect my hd. in optimal settings or normal, it works perfectly. Any guru can figure out this one?
fordf250 Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 does that mb have cmos reloaded? If it does are you using it to overclock to something you had setup before the raid system?
red930 Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Question 1: When it was OC'd, why didn't you leave it OC'd? Question 2: What make/model of PSU are you using? Here are some things to do: Remove and re-seat your RAM - with the power-off, of course. Check ALL cables and make sure their seated correctly. I only ask you to do this because you haven't specifically verified you have checked for this. Use a DMM to check the voltages coming off the PSU during idle and load. Post back with your findings. red930 Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Good deal! It is always a good idea to re-check your settings just in case something was overlooked. Marking thread as [Resolved] and locking.
