Prometheous Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I just wanted to ask how Nvidia nTune causes crashes. Does nTune cause problems while in normal operation in the background, or does it cause problems only while you are using it to overclock. If the problem only occurs while overclocking, then I would still like to use it as a settings viewer. Thanks
red930 Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 nTune is not supported by DFI. Your best bet is to uninstall it and leave it alone. A64Tweaker is a better solution. Xylo Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Why on earth would they package it with a DFI board if its not supported I dont get that lol. Additionally, it's made by nVidia for the nForce chipset which is on the DFI boards in question...so...? In any case, I'm trying out a64tweaker....but having a bit of a time with documentation for it...
StephenC Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I think a lot of it (conflict with ntune) is to due with these board's bios. Simply put, It is a lot more advanced/tweakable then other like chipset motherboards.
red930 Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Marketing designed the box, engineering designed the mobo. Never the twain shall meet. lol nTune works great with a lot of other nF4 mobos. As long as you have a plain vanilla BIOS it's fun. I've played with it on an Abit board. The first time I tried it on a DFI board I had to flash the BIOS to fix the corruption. Prometheous Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Agreed, thats just plain stupid, and they are still sending it out as part of their package, why not just stop. No warning included, no nothing, and yes it should be compatible, I don't know, whats this modding world coming to. I looked it up on the nvidia website for compatibility, what does it say, blank, most of the other boards support it or don't, DFI Ultra D is a blank, but apparently the SLi version does support it. Maybe we will get a bios update which will allow us to use it, lets hope.
