davidhammock200 Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Im thinking on buying this baby: http://www.coolerguys.com/840556018971.html Is not so expensive, 535Watts, SLI ready. It should work very well with my future rig, no more than 4 HDD, a x800GT maybe, 2 GB RAM, some 4 to 6 fans and 2 UV neons... Do you think it can work fine with 2x6800Ultra? Older model, but it will be just fine!
Keegs Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I just bought the Hiper 580w US version. You can find them at frozenpc.com. It's $120. I'll let you know how it holds up when I do my build this week. Also, 3dgameman.com has a video review on it. His test set-up is using the LanParty SLI-DR. Dynomutt Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 this PSU seems to be getting quite popular here, any thoughts on the Gigabyte G-Power Pro HSF
Keegs Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Well, I hooked up the Hiper PSU and it works beautifully. I'm not running 2 vid cards yet though. My only caveat with the Hiper is that it only has one floppy connector, and since you have to plug that into the board, you need to buy an adapter for one of your standard 4 pin molex connectors. Good luck with your build!
Dynomutt Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 i dont have a floppy installed anyway, i just hook it up for Bios updates
davidhammock200 Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Guys the Hiper's are very good deals in the UK/EU, but to pay $120 for one in the US is nuts! You can get the OCZ PowerStream 520W for the same amount here & it is a much better PSU! And in the US, you can get the Enermax 535W SLI Certified PSU for under $90!
