audigy 2 zs upped my chipset temps :-(

Recommended Posts

is this normal, for a soundcard to raise my chipset temps by 6-8 degrees celsius?

i already put as5 on the chip and it was idling nicely at 43 degrees now it hovers at 50...poo..or is something else to blame?

heh, never heard of such a thing

doesn't mean it might not happen...depends on where you put the Audigy...the placement of it could have deflected/blocked some airflow that normally got to your chipset etc

i had the same problem too, as soon as i installed my audigy 2 zs my chipset tempes rose to about 48 idle from 43 idle. Anyway i put a fan over the pwmic area and not its about 40 idle. I guess it was airflow prob
