Pentium-D and 2gbs of Ram? Help please!

I'm troubleshooting an HP Pentium-D 560 PC at work with 2 gigabytes of ram. When I run memtest on the gig of ram (Single sided micron) everything is fine. When I test the extra gig of Kingston (double sided) it runs fine. When I put them together I get errors all over memtest. This ram is all DDR1 PC3200 memory.

The bios on an HP system is extremely limited and the only options I can adjust are: "force CPUID 3" and "disable hyperthreading". I think the board is using an Intel 915chipset.

To run 4 sticks at DDR400 do I need to run all singlesided ram? Do I need to disable hyperthreading? What the hell is force CPUID 3?

Righto! I'll be here. :) Once I get the model I can look up the tech references and find out what the specific requirements are.

Could you also post the make and model of RAM that you installed?

Thanks!

The comp is an HP Dc7100 part # PC938A#ABA

kingston valueram and crucial valueram.

PROBLEM SOLVED: I swapped the ream to the opposite slots and now memtest and prime are going perfect. I have the single sided Crucial in the blue slots and the kingston doublesided in the black slots.
