Shaggy Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 (edited) I just got my Sapphire 9700 Pro, but i read a review somewhere that sapphire didn't apply thermal compound to their GPU's. Sapphire obviously remmedied this problem because there was plenty of goop on my video card. Anyway, Im considering applying some AS3 on it, but I havn't applyed paste to a GPU before. Whats the best way to clean and how much should i apply? Generally, i would apply it the same way you do with a CPU, but this card is just too expensive for me to not ask this newb question. sYstEmATiC Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 (edited) i wiped it off real good, then i used nailpolish remover but i heard ur not supposed to that ur supposed to use isypropyl alchohol use alchohol to clean it real good, then put the AS3 down.....u just need a thin layer like the cpu's do. BTW, what are you going to do with ur Gfrce3Ti? Edited July 23, 2003 by sYstEmATiC
syneze Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 It is pretty much the same procedure as cleaning a CPU. Get a lint free cloth, apply isopropyl alcohol to it and wipe it off gently.
Shaggy Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 BTW, what are you going to do with ur Gfrce3Ti? Thanks. I figured it was the same way as a CPU, but i just wanted to double check. You can never be too careful. I actually sold my old computer, geforce 3 and all
