Applying Goop To The Gpu

Recommended Posts

I just got my Sapphire 9700 Pro, but i read a review somewhere that sapphire didn't apply thermal compound to their GPU's. Sapphire obviously remmedied this problem because there was plenty of goop on my video card. Anyway, Im considering applying some AS3 on it, but I havn't applyed paste to a GPU before. Whats the best way to clean and how much should i apply?

Generally, i would apply it the same way you do with a CPU, but this card is just too expensive for me to not ask this newb question.

i wiped it off real good, then i used nailpolish remover but i heard ur not supposed to that ur supposed to use isypropyl alchohol

use alchohol to clean it real good, then put the AS3 down.....u just need a thin layer like the cpu's do.

BTW, what are you going to do with ur Gfrce3Ti?

Thanks. I figured it was the same way as a CPU, but i just wanted to double check. You can never be too careful.

I actually sold my old computer, geforce 3 and all
