Cleaning your NF4 Chipset fan and replacing with AS5 (or other thermal

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I really need some urgent help here!!

After taking off the stock cooler (which is now covered in blood - it was almost glued on) there's a bit of the original TIM stuck on the chip. I've tried scraping it gently with a bit of plastic but its rock solid... Will isopropyl alcohol soften it up so I can scrape it off easier?

Arcti-clean will soften it up, never used alcohol but I'd be willing to bet it would work...

I need to get going on mine too, the stock cooler isn't even stuck in place on the chipset after transferring to my new case, just sitting over the chip... needless to say temps are a bit higher than before... lol
