Wetchaser Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I have this new gamers keyboard, but im guessing since its usb, i cant use F8 to get into safe mode when running a driver cleaner program. Is there a way to tell computer before i shut it off that i want it to start in safe mode? And if so, is it easy enough to get back to regular windows? ICON57 Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 not sure, but you might have to enable the "f" lock on your kb so you can use your f8 button. all kb's weather they are ps2 or usb are able to use an f8 button, but on some kb's like my logitech you have to push the f lock button to enable you f keys. mack73 Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 You may have to plug the keyboard into a PS2 - USB adapter Some keyboards will not work until you get into windows. I beleive flashing the bios to a new version has also helped some people
nervousnellie Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 f-lock is short function lock and is usually located somewhere along the top of the keyboard(like where the internet shortcut keys are) although AFAIK logitech is the only keyboard maker that uses that particular term, it could possibly be labeled something else on your keyboard, and still perform the same action. About Safe Mode (to go back to booting normally, you would need to clear the check mark and reboot)
