Guest bobyjo Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 NVIDIA sneaks in the 6800XT Well the card was quietly announced, to take on the ATI X800GT head on. It will be similar to the ATI offering, will have 8 pipelines, but will sell for a small amount less than the ATI counterpart, to sway the OEMs towards adding a NVIDIA card instead of the ATI piece. Fight Game Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 ya, and the price difference from cheapest to highest is probably a couple hundred bucks, for basically the same card. You may get a slightly better cooling fan with one. For those that overclock, (and/or unlock) IT IS the exact same card. It's a marketing thing. Only reason I bought a GT was because it was the only 6600 that is SLI capable. Knowing what I know now, why go SLI when I can buy the very next card up, and do better, for less money. Not to mention the added posibility of problems happening while trying to run SLI. I guess SLI is only for those that have to have 2 of the very best, newest cards out.
