Good news for those wanting 2GB of memory in their DFI NF3 250Gb boards...I've tested the OCZ PC3200 2x1024 kit in it and it is flawless for me.

 

I've entered the stock, stable settings below just like I would enter them into the Overclocking Database to make it easy to reference ;)

I'm sure that is has been discussed but I want to get more memory and replace the 2x512 i have now with 1024x2. Any reccomendations. I havent been too pleased with this OCZ stuff. Takes too much tweaking and I cant get higher than 289x9. But would be willing to get more soley for the support.

 

Now I am settiling for 240x11 on my new setup stable but need/want more memory. I constantly run into windows telling me my virtual memory is low. Anything adound 2-300 bux. Also what slots to put them in orange or yellow?

#2 if you have an overclocking question, post it in the appropriate section, do not attempt to hijack this thread.

 

#3 2GB kits are not going to overclock like you want them to. get used to it. You would have known this if you did a little searching.

 

 

 

 

this thread is for those that want to do stable 2GB on the NF3 250Gb.

 

as I am pretty sure the thread states plainly....if you bother to read at all that is.

thanks angry, truly awesome ! ... I was looking to get one stick of that memory but after seeing those scores I think I might get the two gig. set :)

I remember it being mentioned before but I can't recall....

It's better to have the memory seated in slot 1&3 or slot 1&2 closest to the cpu?

I notice that you have the chipset and agp voltage set to 1.7 ..... why is that? also isn't there some kind of problem with the agp voltage that no matter how high you set it is regulated on it's own by the video card bios? Is that correct?

OCZ PC3200 2x1024MB (OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K)

Got a set of these yesterday and they are not doing well at all for me.

If I leave Bank Interleave enabled, I get endless "detecting array" loop..... no matter what mhz they are at.

They are memtest and 8 hours prime stable at 180mhz 2-3-2-5.....tried different multi's and dividers....voltage...timings etc and they all poop out with mem @ 181mhz with thousands of errors in test 1 in address above 1024 ? And 182mhz will freeze memtest in test 0 ?!?!

 

Both sticks test fine by themselves up to 209mhz 1:1 stock timings (as high as I've tested them )....... I'm a little stumped, but I'm starting to suspect the supposedly improved mem controller on my newark :rolleyes:

I wish i had a newark to test with New-B. It could very well be a newark problem...but I don't know...my Athlon64 3400+ is a pretty old cpu....it is one that won't even overclock to 2500Mhz (2400Mhz stock speed) on a really nice water setup with any memory, on any of my NF3 boards...

 

I assume you have tried all combinations of DIMM slots also?

Yep....tried all slots/switched mem around. And the newark was stable with the ram in sig @ 245x12 10-2-2-2 1:1

 

The OCZ at 180mhz, 2-3-2-5 ,2.6vdim=stable.......and 181mhz, even with 3-3-3-8, 2.9v= crap???? Oh well, even with the mem running so much slower, BF2 is still running better by a long shot. Just not sure how low I wana go with the dividers cause the CPU is good for 2900+ @ 1.55v

Just wanted to say, that after more testing......the mem has no problem running at default speeds.

It just won't boot ( in my rig ) at over 180mhz. But using A64tweaker to raise the mem divider in windows, it runs fine ??

Benchmarks show the increased bandwidth after changing the divider and it is 5 hours BF2 & 11+ hours prime stable.
