Phewl Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 So I was hesitant to purchase the Lanparty Ultra-D because of all the difficulties I've heard of. I'm not a novice, but I wasn't sure I was ready to deal with the plethora of potential difficulties. I did, however, build a system based around it, and all went as planned. The bios flash at the start was the key, I see in retrospect. I do have a question, though. I find my internet speeds are a bit slower than on my previous machine. I have even had some downloads completely freeze on me. I am using the supplied ports on the motherboard, the Marvell one if I read the manual correctly. Any advice on this? Would I notice better speeds if I went with a seperate pci card?

cpuz Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 hmm, i don't have any issues w/ download speeds at all. i'm using the nvidia lan. how are you connecting to the internet? directly to a cable modem or thru a network?
devINVISIBLE Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 I've actually noticed a few times where my download speeds would stop completely... but maybe pick up and finish up like an hour later. : I usually just restart the download, but nonetheless lame. I believe it to be a problem with either the drivers or the hardware, but maybe im too quick to jump to conclusions.

Guest Spartacus Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 Uninstall the nVidia firewall software. Do a search and you'll see that's the solution to most of the problems related to the NIC.
