So you are saying you have a raid array setup from another motherboard, and you are trying to transfer that raid array to the sli-dr board? If this is the case, is raid enabled in the bios? Can you see it in boot priority? Give us details about this, i'm confused.

red930 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Check the website for that controller card. I've run into the same problem with other controllers when moving arrays from one box to another. Normally the rig should boot from the logic chip on the controller then initialize the array and continue. It looks like the BIOS is not seeing the controller as a boot device so the array is never initialized. There is the possibility that the controller doesn't play nice with the nF4 chipset. You might have to install the controller and array back in the original box and update the controller BIOS to get it to work. red930 Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 This description is different that your earlier posts. Are you trying to install the OS from a slipstreamed CD? If so, try an install from a stamped OS CD and see if you get different results. the two raid drives WD800JB's are on the PCI RAID controller ITE IT8212Fand it detects in ghost, partition magic, can install windows but as soon as there is first reboot it dosent continue, it just will not boot and load to windows cd again. seevip Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Im backing up all my stuff now to do fresh raid array. One thing though, They are PATA drives so, if i dont use the PCi card, ill have to use mobo, and then i will have two dvd drives on slave that would suck for raid. If i put my dvd drives on the PCi card, then it wont boot from CD. barghh
