RANT APPROACHING! As I mentioned in the just bought thread I have a new laptop with windows 8 as the OS. After a fair amount of consideration I would rather have windows 7. Anyway,if I double click on a .avi file (example) the OS brings up xbox video or whatever it is as opposed to windows media player, which is one of those cute full screen "apps". Of course it errors out. Go figure. Thus I get a screen showing me the latest movies and related BS. In order to get back to my "desktop" I have to mash esc, which brings me to the new "start menu". Give me minimize / maximize / close or else. Why are we trying to run an operating system that is https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1C1CHFX_enUS529US529&q=optimize&spell=1&sa=X&ei=jjtiUfTWI4WUjAK2g4CwDQ&ved=0CDQQBSgD">optimized for a. touch screen enabled device that does not have a touch screen? Here comes the fun part. This laptop has the F keys mapped to the "media" keys. Therefor, it I want "alt F4" to close that "start menu" I must hit FN + ATL +"F4" Its the whole http://youtu.be/RCOlf_7BT-I">cloverleaf period space bar thing all over again, damn it.
