  1. Hello everyone, I want to add another fan to my HAF-X case. There is only one room for additional fan which is at the top and away from the back panel. Currently the setup is standard one which is Intake: Front 200 mm, Side 200 mm Exhaust: Top left 200 mm, back 140 mm The only place where I can add another one is at the top right or away from the back panel and near the RAM and drives. So when I get it, should I use it as intake or exhaust to create the best balance of negative / positive airflow pressure? The reason why I am thinking about this is because I live in hot environment and yes I do have the AC turned on most of the day but not all of it and I keep my PC turned on for weeks. So there will be a time when the AC will not be turned on and the PC is still running hot. In addition to the fact that recently I lost a HDD probably because of the heat or maybe the device itself might have been faulty but I'd like to make sure that case has as much airflow as possible. I guess that it would be best to use the new fan as an intake fan. But this is only my guess and it can be right or wrong I really do not know. Here is a photo of the case to help you imagine the situation. Waiting for your suggestions!! Thanks in advance.

  3. Hello everyone! I was taking a look at one of your old post about the Thermaltake Armor Revo Gene and I noticed you guys put in a 240mm corsair radiator and fan! This is awesome news to me because I am trying to fit a Corsair H100i into my case. However I the problem I have is that I have a ASUS z87-A MoBo and I'm worried I will not have enough room to mount this radiator and fan! So who ever made that post about the case can you maybe help me out here? Or anyone that has any suggestions please please let me know! Here is the thread about the case http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/thermaltake_armor_revo_gene/6.htm Thanks in advance! -Devron55
  4. hi all,i want to change my stock cooler.is hot... i read many reviews for thermal paste,i want to buy deepcool z5 in performance test is same score as arctic-cooling mx4. but i don,t undestead way deepcool z5 have thermal conductivity only 1,46w\mk and arctic-cooling mx4 8,5w\mk and both with same score?
  5. As everybody knows over the last month or so my laptop has been running hot. So everyone has suggested reapplying my thermal paste. I will be ordering it in a couple of days. Is there a particular brand thats works better than others with laptops or will anyone do just like with desktops. Also would a dried out lysol wipe make a good cloth for cleaning with the Articlean Thermal paste remover? Also antbody have an opnion on the best hard drive for a laptop hat doesnt support AHCI and SSD's. I have been thinking of a WD black the 7200 rpm
  6. Ok everybody I seriously am about to give an idea about how little I buy laptops. The last time I brought anything resembling a laptop cooler it was just a rectangular wire mesh thing the laptop sat on and its own ventilation cooled it. As such I have no idea what to look for in a "modern" laptop cooler. It needs to fit my hp pavillion g7 2240-us which is a 17.3 inch laptop and it not only must fit on my lap as I have no desk I tend to use it lying in bed. So if anybody has a recommendation I would be grateful. The less expensive the better my laptop is over heating to the point its running very hot and literally shutting down to cool off. I checked the hard drive its not damaged yet but I'm beginning to see errors left and right such as programs refusing to work and needing to uninstall them then re installing they work then stop functioning again. Pretty much all of the ventilation for my laptop is in the bottom middle so its blocked no matter what you put it on. Poor design I may add but this is one of the many reason I will never buy hp ever again.
  7. Hello Overclockers! I am researching high-performance cooling systems for electronics and was wondering if y'all had any suggestions for new cooling technologies that our team could investigate for a thermal engineering design project. Right now it seems like there are a million ways that we could go; multi-phase cooling, micro-refrigeration, fanless/pumpless cooling, chip-integrated cooing, something with contact resistances, something with heat sink geometry. What do you think will be the next big thing? PS. This is for an engineering senior design project for university
  8. Hey All, I have been a frequent visitor, but new member in need of some airflow advice. I have a CM 690 case. Here's a pic of my case as it is currently pre-new card and setup. I currently have the following setup: Fans pulling air in case: 1 Scythe 120mm sitting on bottom of case blowing up 2 Scythe 120mm in front (one behind bay grates, other below behind insignia where HD slots are) 2 120 mm CM side fans. Fans blowing air out: 1 Scythe 120MM in back 2x 120mm fans under H100 radiator at top of case pushing air through radiator and out. (NB my case is too small to do push/pull w. H100) So currently, I essentially have fresh cool air coming from front, bottom and sides being expelled from top and rear. I have recently acquired an Accelero Hybrid and 4x Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition 120mm fans. Looking for the optimum setup to maximize beneficial airflow with no additional mods to case. (cut out backs of drive and HD bays to ensure front fans are impeded as little as possible already) The Accelero Hybrid website provides 4 options, but none factor in it being used w. an H100. I intend to use the SP120s on one side of the H100 at the top of the case (push or pull?) and on the other 2 on both sides of the Hybrid for push pull wherever it winds up being located. Other than that, I am open to all suggestions. I would appreciate any guidance you all can provide. Thank you!!
