I have the Asus Z97 Pro Gamer and i7 4790K. I was hoping to see the BIOS without building the rig. Dan (son) has the same mobo with the same CPU. His BIOS is 0501. According to Asus that BIOS only supports the Pentium G3460 CPU with this mobo. All other CPU's have 0202 with this mobo. The BIOS support for the 4779K is 0202. That stuff is what I found out. I know this is a popular CPU so what are people on this forum, and other forums, using as their BIOS? Asus support has a 2106 BIOS that states " *Full support of the new CPU requires VGA driver version 10.18.14.4206 or later "

So frustrated right now...just got a NZXT Source 210, i5 2500k, 212 evo, and an Asus P8Z68-V LE motherboard. I first installed all the parts in the case with my current PSU, HDD, GPU, and ram. Everything worked fine until I went into Windows and it started to randomly crash after I opened a few programs. So I thought this could be two things, either a software problem, or its my PSU. I'm using the same Enermax 550W PSU which powered the specs in my signature. Anyway I went ahead and first updated the graphics card driver, lan, chipset, and audio drivers. No luck. I tried the VGA driver too but it said that I didn't meet the minimal requirements or something and it failed to install. I then went on to download the latest BIOS. I used the Asus EZ update in the BIOS to load the latest rom from my HDD (possible problem here?) and then it restarted and gave me a black screen which states: "WARNING! BIOS Recovery Mode has been detected! Please put the file "P8Z68VLE.ROM" into a removable USB media device, and reset your computer. You can also insert ASUS Support CD into your CD-ROM and reset your computer. If you have done these, please wait a moment and don't shutdown your system! _ Well I don't have an optical drive, or the support CD, so the USB was my only option. The file I downloaded was named "P8Z68-V-LE-ASUS-4102.ROM" which is slightly different from what the name should be when it appeared in the BIOS. I put it onto a USB, loaded it, and it took me to the same screen. So I waited for five minutes and nothing changes. I would think this is longer than " a moment"... I then rename the file to exactly what it matched on the BIOS and I'm now stuck at a black screen. I also cleared the CMOS and re-seated the ram. Temperatures are not a problem. The cpu was running around 32 C idle when it was working. -------------------------------------------- I think downloading one of these programs might solve it, not sure though. I'll go ahead and list them anyway. Bios Renamer for USB BIOS Flashback and Crashfree BIOS 2 or Bupdater Utility V1.30 for flash BIOS under DOS. The USB only had the renamed BIOS file on it, nothing else. -------------------------------------------- Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi folks, First post here, hope I a in the right place for the thread, ok so I have bought an ASRock X79 Extreme 6 and Intel i7-4930k combo. I am trying to find uefi settings for this combo but fresh outta luck, I am using BIOS version 3, I run a Corsair H100i liquid cooler on the CPU and that did my last i72600k @ 4.9ghz very nicely. Ok so I am struggling to use the auto or EZ OC at 4.6, 4.8 forget it but 4.6 is struggling, the fixed voltages are like 1.45 and that to me is too high for sure, ok so guys, can anyone or does anyone know of the uefi settings I should be manually dialing into this combo? I am aiming for 4.8 eventually but just not having success, with this combo, the i7-2600k and Z68 Extreme 4Gen3 board I had prior was a cinch, this is not looking so good, I ummmmed and arrrred about this upgrade and I am not reaping 4.6 without high voltages and 4.8 forget it. Could anyone please help me and share your expertise with the main uefi settings I should be dialing in? Hello everyone, Not sure where I could of posted this so I posted it here. I have an AMD CPU & recently I noticed it's been a bit slow from time to time. I checked BIOS and Cool & Quiet is disabled, but CPU-Z is saying I get 1.4Ghz when I'm idling, Why won't it disable? I have reset BIOS to defaults, rebooted then re-disabled it and nothing. I have turned it on, rebooted, turned it off again etc. It never used to do this. Any ideas? Thanks

I am going to replace my Sempron 140 which is unlocked to Athlon II x2 4400e. But before removing it or replacing anything, do I need to reset the BIOS? Because I remember that unlocking increases voltages or something. I am a bit new to unlocking. I thought of this problem right after disassembling the whole thing. Bottomline: Do I need to reset the BIOS (because it unlocked the Sempron 140) before replacing a new processor? I have a BIostar A780L mobo.
