  1. Glad to have you with our group
  2. I think I would find me some REAL friends.
  3. You need to exchange it for the regular X-fi. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102019 Here is somw reviews. http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pc-mac/pc-components/sound-cards/creative-x-fi-titanium-hd-712750/review from the review site: Two are for stereo line out, two are for stereo line in, which means if you want surround sound, you're going to have to use the optical connection to a separate amp and decoder, rather nullifying your investment in a high quality on-board one. There are no analogue connections for surround speakers. That's a design quirk we can live with. After all, the audience for the Titanium HD is probably more interested in the low latency ASIO drivers for professional studio recording than listening for someone creeping up behind them in Call of Duty 4. http://www.hardocp.com/article/2010/10/25/sound_blaster_xfi_titanium_hd_card_review/
  4. Check the fan and heatsink, is it working and on good. Run memtest on your memory, it can't hurt.
  5. Inspiration to us all to take better care of our bodies.
  6. I would not "work" around the old Dell case, even if you get a cheap case. I don't know where you live but Fry's always has a cheap ATX case in their ad on Friday. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133094
  7. Now your talking man, my 02 Elantra does too, and it just goes and goes
  8. Sorry to hear about your Father passing. I have both may parents and a half sister and a nephew. All I can tell is "you just pick it up" and keep going. It's the thing that's going to happen to all of us someday.
  9. CM Sniper http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119194
  10. Yea I quit in 97 what a waste of money and health!
  11. I would get some life insurance, even when I smoked, I could not smoke that much! Figure awake, 16 hours, 4 packs=80 cigs, 5 cigs an hour, a cigarrette lasts about 10 mins each so only 10 minutes per hour to breathe/eat
  12. http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/download/download_bios_detail.php?pFILE_TYPE=Bios&pMAIN_TYPE=Motherboard&pTITLE_ON_SCREEN=AW9D&pSOCKET_TYPE=LGA775 well I don't see the 8500 listed
  13. Nice job. I have a 900 also and I spent more time playing with cables than building the system. Next time I upgrade I am cutting a backside hole for the cpu HS/fan.
  14. First tell them that you keep having problems with it and you have to plug and unplug it constantly to get it to work. If they care about you as a customer that should be enough. If not tell them that you are just going to discontinue service....that should do it. If not place it in an old microwave for 20 seconds The microwave is also good for CDs and DVDs but 3 seconds is enough, turn off the lights for the show!
  15. at least "a few" and maybe roll one or two big ones
  16. I know this might not be it but give it a try.... unplug the computer from the outlet remove the cmos battery for 10 minutes then replace it and plug into outlet and try it one more thing to try......remove all the memory but one stick I had a bad stick and it was doing just like yours is doing
  17. yea the drive is slow but fine for data and there is less noise and heat
  18. try each card separately, only plug in one at at time
  19. wisely spoken ... girlfriends are easily gotten rid of.
  20. The western digital free version of Acronis will work as long as you have a western digital drive even if it's a just a usb and not being used for the transfer. It only needs to see a WD drive.
  21. If the power goes out, the thieves would need to wait 12 hours until the back-up generator runs out of fuel. Only 12 hours? You need one of these! http://www.generac.com/Residential/Guardian/Products/Guardian_Series_17_kW/ During the last hurricane (IKE) I was the only one with power in the neighborhood for a week !
  22. I like the freedom of having a car (cars! more than one of course!). If I want to go somewhere I get up and go and I can go anywhere I want when I want Don't have to worry about that strange person sitting across from me on the bus sharpening his knife.
  23. Yea there is nothing wrong with that it will be a very good HTPC when you upgrade to something newer.
  24. This one would serve you well. http://www.cyberpowersystems.com/products/ups-systems/intelligent-lcd-ups/CP1500AVRLCD.html http://www.amazon.com/Cyberpower-CP1500AVRLCD-UPS-Display-8-Outlet/dp/B000FBK3QK http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842102048&Tpk=CP1500AVRLCD I had APC but these have more features for less. i have this one (850VA) for my system listed below, and my wifes and my HTPC, 3 total . http://www.cyberpowersystems.com/products/ups-systems/intelligent-lcd-ups/CP850AVRLCD.html But I have a Generac Natural Gas 16,000 kw whole house generator that starts and is up in 15 seconds so I don't need a lot of uptime
