  1. Actually Mikrotik would work great for this. You can get an RB750GL for around $50 and capabilities wise they can compete with an $800 Cisco enterprise class router. Really any non-consumer grade router would probably work for your needs.
  2. That would be a configuration mistake on my part. Supposed to be only the top half make the playoffs but I goofed when setting up the league originally and it just never got changed. I'm guessing you can't change it? Not now that the season has started. If I remember I can change before next season.

  4. Andrew won last year and yes we were all pretty sad having lost to a Cowboys fan.
  5. We have a few spots still available in the OCC Fantasy Football League. Anyone that is interested can send me a PM for an invitation. The draft is September 6th at 7:00PM EST.
  6. Ah, yes Trendnet. Welcome to what other switch manufactures have already been doing for years. With that being said their switches are not bad as access layer switches. Some of their other products like SFP modules and media converters are pretty good too.
  7. ASA migrations for me right now. I rarely have time to do "computer stuff" at home anymore unless it is "computer stuff" for work lol.

    Upgrade time!

If properly insulated condensation is not that big of a concern. I have had several parts covered in condensation over the years, some fried and some didn't.
  10. It was a good game. I don't root for either team which makes it better in a way because I don't care who wins and I can just enjoy the football entertainment happening in front of me. I am tired of hearing about the cheating crap. Yes the Patriots cheat and so does everybody else. It is a professional sport so every team/player is always looking for an edge to win. The Patriots just seem to get caught doing it more lol. And I am a Colts fan so if I don't care about the Patriots cheating then nobody else should either. Shut up about it and play the game. God, Cris Collinsworth needs to have is tongue ripped out with a dull rusty knife.
  11. Well my prayers that CJ Anderson would break a leg in the first 5 minutes of the game were not answered. Congrats Andrew you bastard!
  12. lol, I can hope thought can't I?....all in all I would rather go 1-1 like we did last year than 0-2.
  13. Alright Andrew it looks like it is me and you for the championship in both leagues. Here's to hoping I go 2-0 this round lol.
  14. Two weeks in a row of you. Hate you so much. Come on 90-pt game by Rodgers... Lmao...so far Rodgers has given you 33 points and you are still down 20.

    About that time

Never been a big fan of Rosewill products, however I do like EVGA just haven't personally used their power supplies.

    About that time

I was looking through power supplies a little more thoroughly and I really like the FirePower Silencer MK III 750W. The only thing I don't like about it is the +12v is only 62A. Anyone have any opinions on it compared to the Seasonic? After looking a little closer at my video card options I also see that I could do two GTX 660's or even 760's in SLI for less than the single GTX 980 so any thoughts on 2x660's or 2x760's vs a single 980?

    About that time

With a 980 I probably won't be doing SLI but would rather have the bigger PSU just in case. Air at first but eventually will be doing a custom liquid setup. Never been a huge fan of AIO liquid coolers.
  18. Well I haven't built myself a new rig since the kiddo's were born so I figured this Christmas I would be my own Santa lol. My budget for hardware is going to be $1,500 - $2,000. Below is what I threw together real quick on newegg. Any input or suggestions is always appreciated. Case: Thermaltake Core V71 Extreme Full Tower CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K MB: ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z97 Video Card: MSI GTX 980 GAMING 4G RAM: G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 2400 PSU: SeaSonic X-1250 ( SS-1250XM2 ) 1250W OS HDD: SAMSUNG 840 EVO MZ-7TE250BW 2.5" 250GB
  19. hahahaha...I cannot believe I didn't catch that. That was such a fail I am not even going to change it so that everyone can enjoy my stupidity.
  20. Ok I may have been living under a rock but never seen these before and thought it was awesome. Definitely going to be adding one of these to my Christmas list this year. http://www.gosphero.com/sphero-2-0/
  21. I agree that where you want to work makes a difference if you are wanting to get more into management roles. At larger companies any "management" level role usually a 4-year degree is a requirement. With that being said I think you are in a very good situation for "management" roles in smaller companies or non-management roles at larger companies with your current experience/certs. If you add a CCNA to your existing credentials you are really set. IMO a quality cert like CCNA and 5+ years experience is way more valuable and has much higher ROI than a 4-year degree or even a secondary degree at all. IT is one industry where secondary education is darn near useless and almost a complete waist of money/time unless you are wanting to get into the management level of IT at a larger corporation. In fact if you want a management level position in any field regardless of whether it is IT or not a business degree carries much more weight than an IT degree.
