  1. Going with my gut and I wanted to upgrade graphics one way or another I ordered a evga 1660 ti and installed it. Everything is working normally. Decent upgrade for far cheaper than I spent on my original GTX 780 sc. Sad to see her go but 7 years ain't bad. Longer than most marriages. Thanks all very much for their input.
  2. Dont have a spare video card. But got this error message to pop up. Didnt hard lock with this message.
  3. I was playing DBZ Kakarot earlier and during a cuts scene using game engine my computer locked up no response. Manually restarted my computer and it booted into 800x600 resolution with some non moving blue lines and dots. Restarted it again and it booted to normal resolution minus the blue lines and dots. Tried to start the game again and as soon as game engine began rendering my computer froze again. Reinstalled graphics driver cleanly and the same thing happened when trying to play the game. Reset windows, reinstalled driver, steam, and game, and the same thing happened. Crash also happens when starting Ace combat 7 which is installed on another driver. So far no games will launch. Rig is older a 2013 build main specs: Asus ROG Hero VI Maximus 16GB Corsair RAM Intel i5 4670k series EVGA 780 GTX superclocked Windows, steam , and game installed on older Samsung Pro 256MB SSD.
  4. Thats the question. I already have one 650ti boost. The 3rd(ish) option is the 7950 with 650ti boost doing physx
  5. I am currently using a Core 2 Duo E6600 with an asus p5nd. Video card is a 650ti boost, since I have one already, getting a second and SLI seems to be the most cost effective solution. Also final list, ordering starts in a few days . http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1KOGo
  6. I am building a new system this coming December, this link has the parts I intend on buying. I currently own 1 650ti boost, and plan on SLI with this build. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1FSt6 Im trying to decide between two coolers. I have yet to decide whether I will overclock or not. I hope the gear in that list will provide me with the option. The first is the 212 Evo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099 The second is Noctua NH-U14S: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608041 Ive read some pretty good reviews on the Noctua when used in rigs with substantial overclocks. I've also read that the 212 is a decent cooler. I have the ability to spend a few extra bucks on a good cooler.
  7. Yea its called the Storm Trooper, heres a link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119245
  8. Heres an updated list. Only thing I changed was the RAM to sniper series 1866. Nice site havent ordered anything yet, but a good comparison site. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1FUOj
  9. Here is my new build. Im upgrading from an old Core 2 Duo E6600 system. Im trying to keep it to around 1000 dollars. The only part holding over from my old system to the new is an EVGA GTX650ti boost. Case: Cooler Master Storm Stryker Mobo: Asus Maximus VI GENE PSU: SeaSonic X Series X650 Gold CPU: Intel i5-4670k RAM: G.Skill Ripjaw 2x4GB PC1600 HDD: WD Raptor 500GB Cooler: C.M. Hyper 212 EVO Thoughts appreciated.
  10. I went ahead and spent the extra money on an Acer Aspire. Its an A8 versus i3 or i5 but it has dedicated graphics and its brand new. She shouldnt have any problems with it.
  11. Would this computer with integrated graphics be good enough for my grandmother to play her facebook games? She plays Cafe World and Farmville mostly. This seems like a silly question but I've never used a computer with integrated graphics. She is currently using my pretty high end lap top since her old one died.
  12. My system specs are in my sig. I've had this problem for awhile and just got internet to my new house (way out in the sticks). The operating system is Vista Home Prem. 64 bit. I turned the computer on and it booted to the windows loading screen, 2-3 scrolls later it shuts off, so I booted into safe mode...with no problems. Poked around and found no issues. After attempting to boot normally for about an hour I got tired of it, formatted the drive and attempted to install vista new. Well, once again as it finishes setup and starts loading vista 2-3 scrolls later the system just shuts down. I pulled ram, same issue. No beeps, no error codes, nothing. My initial thought is a hardware problem but I'm not sure. I no longer have an XP CD so reinstalling XP isnt an issue either. Any ideas?
  13. Is google down or is my ISP acting up?
  14. Meh, in the market for a new usb flash drive and was browsing newegg and found this little combo. Apparently I can get 2x1gb of GSkill RAM as a combo deal for around 100 bux with shipping. Currently I have 2GB of Cosair XMS in my system and its tempting to throw in another gig with this combo. Cant overclock currently cause I have an Intel mobo. Any comments on this RAM? EDIT: Wow I'm a moron and forgot to put the link lol. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductCombo...e=10&page=1
  15. There is a patch to make the bottom bar smaller in SupCom. Not to mention scrolling out with the mouse wheel if you need to see more of the battlefield. I also own both games. Its like comparing apples and oranges. SupCom has a huge amount of strategy involved on online play. C&C 3 has a lot of tank rushers (read annoying). For a lot of varied gameplay I would go with SupCom, for a really cool campaign and quick multiplayer I'd go with C&C. Note: If you do end up playing the single player campaign, and buy SupCom prepare to spend 1-3 hours per mission. As far as hardware this system plays it fine. My P4 2.8 system plays it well enough for 2v2 matches anything above def needs dual core and at least 2GB ram.
