    Need help overclocking a i7 2600K

Thank you! I have one question though. What is the ideal CPU volts for a 24/7 OC? Something that would be "safe" (I know that is a relative term in the OC world). Oh, and a general rule of thumb temperature to stay under for this chip?

Alright, I have a stable 4.0GHz oc @ 1.28v (haven't tried lowering the volts down yet) now with my RAM at 8-8-8-24 1.5v 1600MHz in the XMP profile. The CPU doesn't get above 60C under full load. I ran Prime95 for 90 minutes using the blend test with no errors.

    Need help overclocking a i7 2600K

Okay...I'm having serious problems. I'm following the guide step by step and I can't get Windows 10 to load after I make any changes to the BIOS. My SDD's are in RAID 0 and I made sure it was set to that before I exited the BIOS. I set the multiplier, CPU voltage, DRAM timings and voltage at the recommended starting points. My target speed was 4.5GHz and the timings for my RAM are: 8-8-8-24 1.5v. I also set the CPU volts to 1.26v for the clock speed. I left the frequency at 100 and made sure to disable the PLL overvoltage. Memory frequency was set to AUTO. After I'm done in the BIOS, I exit and save. When the computer goes to load windows it stops and restarts. It then boots up again and then goes and starts the "preparing automatic repair" it then does this and restarts again. It continues this over and over and over without ever correcting the issue or finishing loading Windows. I eventually have to load the optimized defaults in the BIOS and restart it to fix the issue. I have no idea what is causing this or what to do. Help!

    Awesome! Thank you!
  5. Hey all, As the title says, I have a i7 2600K that I would like a little more power from. Can anyone give me a starting point and some good guides? I tried to just set the bios to "extreme" and let it do its thing, but that didn't work out well. After 10-30 minutes, it would just crash. I've overclocked before, back when I had an EVGA nForce 780i motherboard and chip, but obviously that was quite awhile ago, plus the bios is much different now. I appreciate your help! All my rig information is in my sig at the bottom.

Completely new build, or just upgrade?

Alright, I decided to buy two GTX 970 windforces off a guy for $500 including the sli bridge. It sounds like a good deal considering the 970's go for over $300 new. Anyways, I have two questions: 1) Will my Corsair TX850w power supply I have had from like 2010 be okay to run the cards? I'm not sure how much efficiency/wattage the power supply loses over time. I want to say it was bronze rated? 2) My Asus Sabertooth P67 MB is PCI-e 2.0x16 single and dual running at x8 x8 (I believe). Will this bottle neck the cards with my current build? Thanks guys

Completely new build, or just upgrade?

Thanks, guys! Any suggestions for a new SSD? I've been out of the game for awhile and I'm no longer sure who makes quality SSD's. I know OCZ used to be awesome. Looking for performance on par, if not better than my current SSD (which I'm sure isn't hard considering how old it is). I would like something at least 200GB. I'm also looking to upgrade the GPU, so suggestions for both are very much appreciated! The top of my budget would be around $600 (altogether), but I'm a gamer so I'd preferably spend more money on the GPU!
  8. Hey all, I built my current rig a few years ago and its been great. I haven't really had any issues with it so far. I've been considering upgrading the SSD and GPU to try and extend the life of the build. I'm just here to ask if it's worth upgrading a few parts and keeping the system, or if it's not cost effective/will bottleneck me and I should start from scratch again. Current specs: CPU: Core i-7 2600K MB: P67 Asus Sabertooth RAM: 16GB G. Skill DDR3 1600 GPU: EVGA GTX 570 HDD 1: OCZ Vertex 3 60GB HDD 2: WD VelociRaptor 600GB PSU: Corsair 850TX CASE: HAF X CPU Cooler: H70

    The Unofficial Battlefield 3 Thread

Hey all, Just posting here cause we started a new Battlefield 3 server and wanted to get people in it to start playing. Here is a little about it. The server name is Death Dealers - NFO servers - Hardcore Mixed Rush/Conquest. It has a player limit of 32 peeps and admins are usually always on. It also has hardcore mode enabled on the default settings. It is ranked and has Punkbuster enabled. The server rules are: No Base Rape/Spawn Camping - No Chat Spam No Intentional TeamKilling - No Hacking/Cheating/Exploiting Admin Reserves Right to Kick/Ban Players At Their Own Discretion We use NFO servers (Nuclear Fallout Online) which are regarded as one of the top industry leading server providers. It is based out of Chicago and should have awesome ping for all. We play all maps and have a sweet rotation. We have it set up so that it will alternate rush and conquest maps so one mode doesn't get boring, however we have it so rush maps will be played in two rounds so the opposing team has the opportunity to attack/defend. We also have it so that all maps will have equal opportunity to be played on rush and conquest modes. Looking for players to help populate, as that seems to be the hardest part of setting up a new server. Thanks and we look forward to playing with you all!

    New Battlefield 3 server

Plenty of people to kill with 32 players without the cluster **** that you get with 64 players.

    BSOD while formatting new HDD

Wow that's exactly what the problem was. I switched to the Intel ports and it's working perfect now. Thanks a lot man. I can't believe my friend and I spent so much time trying to figure it out. Those Marvell ports are bull crap.
  13. I picked up a new OCZ Vertex 3 SSD and installed windows on the SSD. I got a new WD VelociRaptor 600GB HDD as a storage drive. I put in the new WD storage drive and turned on the computer. I then went into disk manager to format the new drive. I kept getting a BSOD and couldn't complete the format. I downloaded the newer Marvell drivers because I kept seeing something about them during the BSOD. Now I don't get a BSOD anymore; however, now I just get an error when trying to format that says: Windows was unable to complete the format for the HD. I have no idea where to go from here. Any ideas? My system specs are in my sig.

    The Witcher 2

This is one of the best games I have ever played. The story is cool, I love the combat system and even on normal difficulty I have a challenge. The graphics are awesome and it gives my rig a workout. I just started chapter3. So glad I bought this game. It takes some time to get use to the combat system, but once you do the game becomes much more enjoyable. I also love how in the story there is really no absolute good or evil, rather just shades of gray. That is much more realistic.
